FTU 2013 DC, frequent traveler university 2013

Last week Gary from View From The Wing announced the dates for the Frequent Traveler University 2013: April 26-28 in DC.

Yesterday both he and Mommy Points posted that registration was open.

The first Frequent Traveler University 2013 will be April 26-28 at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner.

I say first because this year there are two Frequent Traveler Universities: the first was April in New Jersey while the second is at the end of the month in Los Angeles.  Hopefully, there will also be two Frequent Traveler University 2013 held, but there is no guarantee.

The cost is $100 (up from $99) and includes:

  • drinks on Friday night (that would be alcoholic drinks in case you weren’t clear)
  • a full day of sessions on traveling tips, tricks for the frequent traveler on Saturday
  • plated lunch on Saturday
  • almost a full day of sessions on traveling tips, tricks for the frequent traveler on Sunday
  • plated lunch on Sunday
  • networking opportunities

If you’re interested in attending, you can purchase your ticket here.

Book your hotel stay at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner for the negotiated group rate of $89.

For those of you who’ve attended any type of conference (whether it be medical, sales, or industry specific, etc.), you’ll recognize that $100 for a weekend conference is a steal.

If you’ve been on the fence about attending a Frequent Traveler University, remember that he who hesitates loses out.  Get your ticket now before they sell out.

Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card

The Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card is the best card to get started in the world of miles and points. It is the first card you should get to start traveling for free because the welcome offer is 60,000 points after spending $4,000 in the first three months.

My favorite perks about this card are earning 5X points on travel when booked through the Chase portal (2X if direct purchase), 3X points on dining, $50 yearly credit on hotels booked through the Chase portal, no foreign transaction fees, and transferring points to 13 airline and hotel partners like Hyatt, United, and Southwest.

Chase Freedom Unlimited®

The Chase Freedom Unlimited® is one of my favorite cards for earning cash back card and travel rewards. It offers a welcome offer of an additional 1.5% cash back on all your purchases up to $20,000 your first year.

My favorite perks about this card are earning 5% cash back on travel booked through the Chase Travel Portal, 3% cash back at drugstores and restaurants (including delivery and takeout), 1.5% cash back on all other purchases and no annual fee. When paired with cards like the Chase Sapphire Reserve® Card or Ink Business Cash® Credit Card, you can use your points to travel for free.

Hi Robert,

Yes, it turns out that FTUDCA became more popular than anticipated. As of December 9th, FTUDCA attendees have reserved all but a handful of rooms. The organizers were able to add more rooms but the rate has gone up.

Rooms at the Hilton are now $139 and are on the Executive Floor and include breakfast for all people booked in the room.
