The Hyatt Women’s Experience rooms will be launching soon at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla.
Hyatt Women’s Experience
The Hyatt Women’s Experience is a new feature at Hyatt hotels and resorts that provide rooms dedicated to the female business traveler or solo female traveler.
Women’s Experience room amenities at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla
Hyatt Women’s Experience rooms will:
- feature female friendly amenities such as cotton balls, make-up wipes, Q-tips, and a vanity kit
- feature women’s sized robes
- be located away from the stairwells and exit doors
- not have decorative pillows on the bed
Depending on the hotel, some floors will be dedicated for Hyatt Women’s Experience rooms. The Hyatt Regency La Jolla has committed to dedicating one floor for Hyatt Women’s Experience rooms.
How can you get a Hyatt Women’s Experience Room?
Female Goldpassport members who indicate a business address on their profile will be assigned a Women’s Experience room, unless they are a Diamond member or have paid for a Regency Club room.
Non elite female Goldpassport members and other female guests simply need to request Women’s Experience room when checking in.
If I’m traveling with my husband, can I still request a Hyatt Women’s Experience Room?
I’m not sure what the policy is at other Hyatt hotels but at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla you can request a Hyatt Women’s Experience room even if you are traveling with your husband.
The Hyatt Regency La Jolla was still working on setting up their Hyatt Women’s Experience rooms so unfortunately, I do not have any photos of a room.

Over twenty years ago I used to travel to Crystal City and stayed on the women only floor at the Hyatt. There was a silver tea service in the hall. I could walk out with a bathrobe and feel at home. Was very nice and I always stayed there when I was in town.

I had the no decorative pillows explained to me during a recent visit to the Atlanta Hyatt. The idea is to present a clean, crisp looking bed. It was very nice not to have a ton of pillow shams and throw pillows to remove at bed time. After all, does anyone know exactly when was the last time they were washed? I really liked it.

I just think it's strange that the women's rooms would NOT have decorative pillows... because their male customers are the ones who like the decorative pillows?

Does anyone else find this concept disturbing or annoying? As a female traveler I am perfectly capable of staying in a room next to a man, or in any room in a hotel for that matter. What's next? Pink bathrobes? Seriously. I find this offensive.

Hyatt's not the first hotel to have special women's only floors. Other hotels, especially in Europe, have been doing this for the past few years.
