Imagine the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea lapping on the shores as the white sand glistens in the sun.

Sea turtles and whale sharks swimming among you as you snorkel and dive in the second largest coral reef in the world and the longest in the Western Hemisphere.

Ancient Mayan ruins towering above the jungle landscape.  And you’ll find yourself in Belize.

But jungles, beaches, and snorkeling aside, there are many reasons why you should add Belize to your bucket list.

Here are 5 simple reasons why you should travel to Belize:

1.  No Visa Required

If you’re a US citizen, you do not need a visa to travel to Belize.

2.  English Is Spoken

You won’t have to use Google Translate or any other foreign language translation app.  Because English is the official language of Belize.

3.  Set Currency Rates

Unlike other countries where the currency rate fluctuates, there are no currency fluctuations in Belize.  The currency exchange rate is set at two Belize dollars to one US dollar. Always.

Yep, all day, everyday, all the time. So put those currency converters away because the math is simple.  If the listed price is $28bzd, it’s $14.

4.  Dollars Accepted Everywhere

And if a set currency rate isn’t enough to convince you, how about not having to get foreign currency or Belize dollars.

You read that right. You do not have to exchange your US dollars when you visit Belize.  Because the US dollar is accepted everywhere in Belize.

5.  Short Flights From the US

In slightly over two hours, you could be sunning on the beach or hiking in the jungle (if you fly out of Miami).

Coming from New York, a flight to Belize takes six and a half hours.  Less than a full day at work. Hmm, go to work or fly to Belize…

Conclusion

Not sure why you should visit Belize?  As the only country in Central America where English is the official language, you won’t have any language barriers when traveling in Belize.

And with no visa requirements, a fixed current rate, US dollars widely accepted, and quick flights from the US, Belize is an easy country for an international vacation.
