Dining Everywhere Prepaid Visa Card

The Dining Everywhere card is a pin-enabled variable load prepaid Visa card that’s meant to be used to buy food and drink at restaurants and bars in the US.

Note: Some restaurants might charge an automatic 20% for tips when you use the Dining Everywhere Prepaid Visa card to pay your bill.

You can load $20 to $200 to the Dining Everywhere card. It is not reloadable. So the amount you load to the card is what you can spend.

The PIN is the last 4 digits of the card. You can change the PIN online or by calling 877-341-5484.

The Dining Everywhere Prepaid Visa card is issued by MetaBank and is part of the Blackhawk Network.

You can register your card, check your card balance, or change your PIN online.

This Dining Everywhere Prepaid Visa card is a new way to earn a lot of miles and points.

Where to Find the Dining Everywhere Prepaid Visa Card

Office Depot sells the Dining Everywhere Prepaid Visa Card. https://www.travelingwellforless.com

Office Depot sells the Dining Everywhere Prepaid Visa card

You can get the Dining Everywhere Prepaid Visa card at Office Depot. At this time it’s not available in Staples, Rite-Aid, or CVS.

And you can pay with your credit card. The prompt “Only cash purchases allowed” will display on the cashier’s screen. An override is NOT required.

If you buy $1,000 or more at a time, your driver’s license, date of birth, and addresses required.

I’m not sure what’s the maximum you can buy in one day. As I didn’t want to risk having too many prepaid Visa cards that couldn’t be liquidated.

Important things to keep in mind:

  • Don’t get stuck with cards you can’t lose
  • Don’t buy gift cards if you can’t float the money
  • Slow and steady wins the race

Fee to Purchase

There’s a $4.95 fee to purchase the Dining Everywhere card.

But it’s easily offset by any points you earn.

Not a bad cost per point but you should consider: How far Office Depot is from you? How easily can you use the Dining Everywhere card?

This could be worth it for people who don’t have a Staples, Simon Mall, or Macerich Mall in their area.

Where You Can Use the Dining Everywhere Card

You can buy money orders at Walmart with the Dining Everywhere Card. https://www.travelingwellforless.com

You can buy money orders

You can use the Dining Everywhere card at restaurants and bars.

Note: restaurants and bars that use a card reader like Square sometimes don’t code as a restaurant purchase. So your card might get declined.

But you can also use the Dining Everywhere card to purchase money orders.

I was able to purchase money orders at Walmart, grocery stores, the post office, and other places that sell money orders and accept debit cards.

And I didn’t have to enter my PIN at Walmart.

I was not able to get cash back.

But YMMV (Your Miles May Vary).

Can You Load Bluebird or Serve With the Dining Everywhere Card?

I was not able to load my Bluebird or Serve at Walmart. Unlike the first Walmart, this Walmart required a pin.

If there are any Dining Everywhere cards left at Office Depot, I might buy more and try a different Walmart.

Conclusion

The Dining Everywhere Prepaid Visa card is a new way to earn lots of miles and points.

You can buy the Dining Everywhere card at Office Depot. There’s a $4.95 fee for each card.

Cards can be loaded up to $200 and are pin-enabled. PINs are changeable online or calling.

You can’t load Bluebird or Serve with the Dining Everywhere Prepaid Visa card but you can buy money orders.

Thanks to Chris Stafford for the heads-up.

Tried to use the Dine Everywhere card at Bonefish Restaurant. We were told they are not participating in that. :-(

Hi Jane,

That's unfortunate and a bummer. Some restaurants don't take debit cards so perhaps that's why? But if they do, then they should have accepted it.

Need to know the places where I can use this card.

Hi Anna

You can use these cards at restaurants & bars everywhere Visa is accepted. There's an automatic 20% gratuity factored into the value of the card. So you can't use the entire value in one swipe. It has to be 20% less of the card's value.

Tried to use the card at a well known restaurant in Mt Lebanon, Pa and they would not use it. Good thing I had money to pay. Card was given to me for a Christmas Gift. You should buy them back and add the fee on to the Visa Card.

Hi Anna,

Sorry to hear you couldn't use your card at a Mt Lebanon, PA restaurant. Maybe the issue was the value of the card? With these cards, an automatic 20% tip is "deducted" from the swipe value. For example, if your card had a $25 limit and your bill was $25, it won't work because it's short the 20% gratuity. So you have to use 20% less of the value of your card. Hope that helps.
