The Hyatt Gold Passport program is being replaced by the World of Hyatt on March 1, 2017. I haven’t shared my thoughts yet on the changes so watch for a post in the next few days. And a lucky reader will get free Globalist elite status.

World of Hyatt: A World of Understanding and Free Globalist Status

And while the loyalty program is a small part of the concept, the vision for the World of Hyatt is global. Instead on focusing only on the customer loyalty aspect, Hyatt has expanded the idea. And built the World of Hyatt into something more. Something meaningful. Something that’s lasting. Something that has an impact.

The new global platform, built upon the idea of “a world of understanding,” launches on March 1, 2017.

The concept is simple: understanding others creates deeper connections.

To reinforce the concept of understanding, Hyatt commissioned GRAMMY-nominated recording artist Andra Day. Day’s performance of Burt Bacharach’s “What the World Needs Now is Love” debuts during the 89th Oscars on February 26, 2017.

New Loyalty Program

I’ll go into more detail about Hyatt’s new loyalty program in a separate post. But here’s a quick summary:

  • Four tiers: member, Discoverist, Explorist, and Globalist
  • Bonus points when using points
  • Free nights after 5 stays
  • Waived resort fees
  • Free upgrades, including suites (Globalist)

Partnership with AFAR

Tokyo Experience

Some members of the World of Hyatt will get to enjoy a special experience in Tokyo (more details to come). Hyatt did something similar in Sydney, Australia. Watch the video below to get an idea of what you might get to experience.

Educational Program

A 4 to 6-month educational program will teach life skills to Chicago public school students.

Conclusion

The World of Hyatt replaces the Gold Passport program on March 1, 2017.

The World of Hyatt is more than a loyalty program, it’s a concept, a vision. It’s the idea that having a greater understanding of others creates a better world.

The Andra Day remake of “What the World Needs Now is Love” will play during the 89th Oscars on February 26, 2017.

Hyatt has partnered with AFAR to bring new experiences to select members. And empower Chicago public school students by teaching life skills.
