Update on Wyndham 16,000 Bonus Points

Share with a friend

Here’s an update on Wyndham 16,000 bonus points offer: after I posted and tweeted about the Wyndham 16,000 bonus point offer a few days ago, Wyndham tweeted back and said that the offer is targeted.

Update on Wyndham 16,000 bonus points offer:

  • The offer is targeted to select Wyndham members
  • You must have received a direct mail offer
  • Only those who received the offer will receive bonus points

Unfortunately, the terms and conditions on the Wyndham website do not specify that the bonus point offer is targeted.

I’m still waiting to hear back from Wyndham to see if those who were emailed the original 16,000 bonus points offer this summer, but did not take advantage of that offer, would be able to take advantage of it now.

So if you were planning on staying a one of the new 20 Wyndham properties and did not receive the direct mail solicitation, you might not receive the bonus points.

I say might because there has been some posting that the bonus points were awarded but given that it’s subject to the whims of whatever customer service representative you receive, it’s a crap shoot.

Hopefully you hadn’t made any nonrefundable prepaid reservations.

The Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card is the best card to get started in the world of miles and points. It is the first card you should get to start traveling for free because the welcome offer is 60,000 points after spending $4,000 in the first three months.

My favorite perks about this card are earning 5X points on travel when booked through the Chase portal (2X if direct purchase), 3X points on dining, $50 yearly credit on hotels booked through the Chase portal, no foreign transaction fees, and transferring points to 13 airline and hotel partners like Hyatt, United, and Southwest.

The Chase Freedom Unlimited® is one of my favorite cards for earning cash back card and travel rewards. It offers a welcome offer of an additional 1.5% cash back on all your purchases up to $20,000 your first year.

My favorite perks about this card are earning 5% cash back on travel booked through the Chase Travel Portal, 3% cash back at drugstores and restaurants (including delivery and takeout), 1.5% cash back on all other purchases and no annual fee.
