The leather tufted headboard is a great backrest for lounging in bed and watching TV if you can last that long. The luxurious, silky 500-thread count sheets and cozy duvet beckon you. Staying awake is not an option. Linens like these demand to be slept in.

The bed gives a Hyatt Grand Bed and Westin Heavenly Bed a run for their money. As you slip between the sheets, your body starts to relax. You’re enveloped in a cozy embrace evoking the comforts of home.

The marble countered bathrooms offer plenty of room to spread out your essentials. Or you can use the Le Labo Rose 31 provided toiletries. The lightly perfumed scent shouldn’t bother folks with allergies or fragrant intolerances.

An assortment of fresh berries, nuts, and a bottle of water was waiting for me when I got back to the hotel. After dancing for several hours at a Silent Disco, it was a healthy midnight snack. Thanks, Fairmont!

The only complaint: vertical laptop sized safes. I prefer horizontal safes so my laptop doesn’t have to stand on its side.

The Fairmont Gold team was fantastic. They are some of the most helpful and friendly hotel employees I’ve met in all my years traveling. Suki, the Fairmont Gold Lounge Manager, was wonderful. The lounge was spotless. No speck of food on the counters or floors.

I didn’t have a chance to enjoy a BeeTini in the courtyard garden or work off the calories from said cocktail in the health club or pool. I guess I’ll have to come back…

It certainly does look like the VIP treatment! I love the style of this hotel and I love how it's also unique with DC motifs. I'm glad to hear it was such a comfortable stay, too! I have enjoyed staying at other Fairmont hotels so glad to hear this one was great, too.

This definitely does look like an Oasis! My best friend lives in D.C., so I'm always fortunate enough to be able to stay with her. However, should she move this looks like a prime location! I love all the amenities - those always make or break a hotel for me - especially those afternoon snacks.
