How to Get on Santa's Nice List

One of my favorite things to do when the weather is chilly is sitting in front of a roaring fire. Snuggling up with a mug of spiced apple cider or hot cocoa (with a shot of Don Q rum) and a good book is my idea of relaxation.
Okay, sometimes instead of reading I binge watch Netflix. How could you not when they load up all those Christmas movies. It's a guilty pleasure and something that could get me on Santa's Naughty list.
But I have a plan. If you've been skating on thin ice, here's how to get on Santa's Nice list.
How to Get on Santa's Nice List
On Christmas Eve Santa gets treats like mince pies, rice pudding, and glasses of beer, sherry, and wine from children around the world.
While here in the US we leave Santa a plate of cookies and a glass of milk. We need to up our game here in the US least we find ourselves on the Naughty list.
I plan to get on Santa's Nice List by leaving him a plate of chocolate chip rum cookies and adult chocolate milk.
Both recipes feature award-winning Don Q Gran Anejo Rum. Don Q is the number 1 selling rum on Puerto Rico. Free from artificial colors and sugars, you can drink Don Q rum on the rocks or mixed in your favorite cocktail.
Don Q Gran Añejo is a smooth rum made from rums aged 9 to 12 years in American White Oak barrels and Solera aged rums up to 50 years. The vanilla, honey, and cinnamon flavors pair well with red meat. And adds a little extra something to cookies and milk.
Don Q Gran Añejo Recipes
Wanna get on the Nice list? Serve up Santa these chocolate chip rum cookies and adult chocolate milk. Or you could skip the pretense and leave a shot of Don Q Gran Añejo on the rocks for Santa.
Chocolate Chip Rum Cookies
- 2 ¼ cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup butter
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon Don Q Gran Añejo rum
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
Mix flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. Beat butter, sugars, and Don Q Gran Añejo rum until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each egg. Slowly add flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips. Scoop dough with tablespoon scoop and place on cookie sheets. Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool for 2 minutes then move cookies to wire racks to cool completely.
Adult Chocolate Milk
- 2 ounces Don Q Gran Añejo rum
- 1 cup Vitamin D milk
- 1 tablespoon chocolate syrup
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
Stir together all ingredients and heat in a microwave-safe mug.

Old Fashioned
- 2 oz. Don Q Gran Añejo rum
- One sugar cube or ½ tsp. of sugar
- Three dashes of Angostura bitters
- One orange peel for garnish
- One Maraschino cherry
Place the sugar cube or ½ tsp. sugar in an old fashioned glass. Add three dashes of bitters. Muddle the mixture, then swirl to coat inside of glass. Add rum and. Add ice and stir again until well chilled. Garnish with orange peel and maraschino cherry.
