Change to Hyatt Suite Award Expiration Date

When you stay 60 nights at Hyatt hotels or earn 100,000 base points you get 4 confirmed suite upgrades. These upgrades expire 365 days after earned. So if you earn them early in the year you have less time to use them before they expire.

But now, there’s a change to Hyatt suite award expiration dates. Instead of expiring in 365 days, the expire on your tier expiration date.

For example, if you earn 4 suite upgrades in 2018, they’ll expire on February 29, 2020.

You don’t have to wait to requalify on December 31 anymore! Earn them sooner so you’ll have more time to use them.

Pro-tip: You can get another suite award or 10,000 bonus points at 70, 80, 90, and 100 nights.

Lifetime Globalist Suite Upgrades

The expiration date for suite upgrades for Lifetime Globalist has also changed.

When you earn Lifetime Globalist you’ll get 4 suite upgrades valid through the rest of the year plus 14 months. And each year, you’ll get 4 suite upgrades on or around March 1 valid for the rest of the year plus 14 months.

Club Lounge Access Award Change

Explorist Club Lounge Access awards will no longer expire in 365 days. Like suite upgrades for Globalists, they now expire on your tier expiration date.

So if you earn the 4 Club Lounge Access awards in 2018, they expire on February 29, 2020.

Conclusion

Good news, there’s been a change to Hyatt suite expiration dates and Club Lounge Access awards. These awards used to expire 365 days after earned. But now, they’re valid until your tier expires.

The earlier you earn them, the longer you have to use them. No more waiting until the end of the year to requalify for status.

Where will you use your Suite upgrades or Club Lounge Access awards?
