It’s almost April which means spring is coming. Spring signifies growth and rebirth which fits with the World of Hyatt’s new branding. And it brings a Hyatt double points promotion from April 1, 2017 to June 30, 2017. Here’s everything you need to know about the Hyatt Double Point promotion.

Hyatt Double Points

You can earn Hyatt double points on stays from April 1, 2017 to June 30, 2017 at all Hyatt hotels worldwide, like the Park Hyatt Maldives. TravelingWellForLess.com

To kick off their new branding, World of Hyatt has launched the Double Points for Being You promotion.

You can earn double points at Hyatt for stays through April 1, 2017 to June 30, 2017.

Every Hyatt stay earns 5 points per dollar. With this promotion, you’ll 10 points per dollar after your second stay.

Hyatt double points earned with this promotion are bonus points vs base points. Meaning the points you’ll earn do not count towards your World of Hyatt lifetime points. Nor do they count towards earning tier status like Globalist. But they are redeemable for free hotel stays.

Pro-tip: Make sure your World of Hyatt profile shows earn Base points vs earn miles. Or you will not get the double points.

3 Easy Steps to Get Hyatt Double Points

Earn Hyatt double points on stays from April 1, 2017 to June 30, 2017.
Register for the Hyatt Double Points Offer

1. Register at Double Points for Being You.
2. Earn Hyatt double points after your second stay from April 1, 2017 to June 30, 2017.
3. Include your World of Hyatt number on your reservation and at check-in

Only World of Hyatt Members can earn Hyatt double points. You can join World of Hyatt for free.

Mlife stays will earn Hyatt double points. If booked through MGM Resorts, Hyatt.com, or by phone with Hyatt.

Pro-tip: Stays booked through online travel agencies like Expedia will not earn double points.

Why You Should Register for the Hyatt Double Points Promotion

You should register for the promotion even if you only have 2 stays from April 1, 2017 to June 30, 2017.

Because you’ll earn double points after the second stay, it makes sense to register. Otherwise, you’re throwing away points.

Unlike previous Hyatt promotions, you had to stay 5 times before you earned bonus points. With the Double Points for Being You offer you get bonus points after 2 stays.

How to Maximize the Hyatt Double Points Promotion

Because travel hacking is my middle name, I’m always looking for the angle and how to increase my points. Here’s how you can maximize the Hyatt double points promotion. More points = more free hotel stays!

Throwaway Hotel

A throwaway hotel is a cheap hotel that you book so you can take advantage of a great deal.Book an inexpensive Hyatt hotel for your first stay. Remember bonus points begin with your second stay.

Book an inexpensive Hyatt hotel for your first stay. Remember bonus points begin with your second stay.

So it can be worth spending a little bit of money so that you can start earning double points on an expensive stay. Especially if you’re staying at for several days or have an expensive hotel booked during the promo period.

3X Points

The Hyatt Double Points offer is combinable with other promotions.

You can earn 3x points (triple points) when you book a double your points rate. So look for the Double Your Points rate offer when you book your room. But do the math to see if booking a double point stay is worth the extra cost.

Bounce Hotels

Not every hotel offers a Double Your Points rate. So consider bouncing hotels each night.

Pro-tip: You earn 1 free night at any Category 1 to 4 Hyatt hotel for every 5 Hyatt stays. You have to stay at five different Hyatt brand hotels to earn a free night. You can earn 2 free night per year.

Invite Friends and Family

You can earn Hyatt double points on up to 3 rooms. If traveling with friends or family, put their rooms in your name and pay their bill. Make arrangements for them to pay you back if you aren’t treating them to a free stay.

Stay Often

There is no limit to the number of Hyatt double points you can earn. So the more you stay, the more bonus points you’ll earn.

Get a Spa Treatment or Order Room Service

You can earn double points on all eligible incidental spending. So you’ll earn Hyatt double points on things like spa treatments and room service.

Pro-tip: You will not earn double points on dining and spa purchases if you are not staying at a Hyatt hotel.

Summary of the Fine Print

  • You have to register by June 30, 2017
  • Hyatt double points begin with your second stay from April 1, 2017 to June 30, 2017
  • Stays at Mlife hotels can earn Hyatt bonus points
  • Double points are bonus points
  • Miraval hotels are excluded from this promotion
  • Bonus points will post within 2 to 3 weeks after the stay (4 to 6 weeks for Mlife hotels)

Conclusion

You can earn Hyatt double points in the World of Hyatt’s first promotion, Double Points for Being You when you stay at Hyatt hotels from April 1, 2017 to June 30, 2017. Registration is required.

Hyatt double points are earned beginning with your second stay. Double points earned with this offer are considered bonus points.

Bonus points do not count towards lifetime status or towards earning tier status, such as Globalist. But there’s no limit to how many bonus points you can earn.

You should register for promotion if you have any hotel stays planned during the April 1, 2017 to June 30, 2017.

Here are six ways you can maximize the Hyatt double points promotion: book a throwaway hotel, pay a double points rate, bounce hotels, invite family and friends, stay often, and get a spa treatment or order room service.

I’m excited about this offer because you can earn unlimited Hyatt double points which means lots of free stays later. 🙂

Have you confirmed the Double Your Points & Double Points Promotion = 4x Points ?
Ex: $100 room on a double your points rate during the double points promotion = 2000 points (
    or
$100 room on a double your points rate during the double points promotion = 1500 points

      Hi C.Mac,

I just checked my account and it looks like you earn 3x with a double points rate during the double points promo. I’ve corrected the post to reflect 3x not 4x.

You earn 5 points per dollar on Hyatt stays.

      Here’s how it breaks down:

$100 room booked at a double your points rate during the double points promo earns 1,500 points
$100 room booked during the double points promo earns 1,000 points

If you’re a Discoverist, Explorist or Globalist you’ll earn an additional 10 to 30% bonus on the base (promos not included).
