Miles for cruising? What? Yep, that’s right. You can earn airline miles when you cruise.
Simply book your cruise with a participating cruise agency and you’ll earn airline miles. You’ll earn airline miles on all cabin types from inside to suite. You get one mile for every dollar spent, including port charges, government fees, and taxes.
Are you sure? Does it work? You bet it does. And you’ll be getting extra miles for something you’re already doing. I’ve cruised extensively since 1998, but have booked with any of the airline cruise agencies, until a few months ago. Long story short: the process was simple and the miles posted quickly. I’ll be posting about my experience using AA Cruises soon.
Here’s a list of participating cruise agencies and current mileage offers:
- Alaska Airlines Cruises – Alaska Airlines
Offer: 1,500 miles for cruises priced from $0 -$2,999; $5,000 for cruises priced $5,000 or more. Call 1-800-215-3796 to book.

Offer: 1 mile for every dollar spent, including port charges, government fees, and taxes
Special Offer: Double miles (2x) when you book a balcony or suite stateroom between April 9, 2012 – May 12, 2012 for all cruises departing before December 31, 2013.
- Air Canada Expedia Cruise Ship Center – Air Canada
Offer: 1 mile for every dollar spent.
Special Offer: Up to 1,500 miles when you book a Royal Caribbean cruise by April 30, 2012 and sail by December 31, 2012. (500 miles for oceanview cabin, 1,000 miles for balcony, and 1,500 miles for a suite)
