Say goodbye to that free night in Paris because Club Carlson is getting rid of the bonus award night benefit

Club Carlson Eliminates Bonus Award Night Benefit

On June 1, 2015, if you have the Club Carlson Premier Visa card you will lose an important benefit and the one that caused you to get this card in the first place.

The bonus award night perk is being replaced with a free night at any Club Carlson hotel in the US.

What the ?

Yep, that’s right.

You no longer be able to get a free award night when booking 2 consecutive award nights or more (up to 50 free nights a year).

Starting June 1, 2015, you will earn a free night that’s good at any US Club Carlson hotel.  Yes, US hotels only!

And to get the free night you have to spend $10,000.

The Bright Side

You can make award bookings using the bonus night award through May 30, 2015.

Stay tuned for a post on the best Club Carlson redemptions using the bonus award night.

I’m bummed about this change. I’ve been able to use my bonus night at the Radisson Blu Sydney, Radisson Blu Milan, and the Radisson Colorado Springs.

What are your thoughts?  Now that the bonus award night benefit is eliminated, will you keep your Club Carlson Premier Visa card?

Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card

The Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card is the best card to get started in the world of miles and points. It is the first card you should get to start traveling for free because the welcome offer is 60,000 points after spending $4,000 in the first three months.

My favorite perks about this card are earning 5X points on travel when booked through the Chase portal (2X if direct purchase), 3X points on dining, $50 yearly credit on hotels booked through the Chase portal, no foreign transaction fees, and transferring points to 13 airline and hotel partners like Hyatt, United, and Southwest.

Chase Freedom Unlimited®

The Chase Freedom Unlimited® is one of my favorite cards for earning cash back card and travel rewards. It offers a welcome offer of an additional 1.5% cash back on all your purchases up to $20,000 your first year.

My favorite perks about this card are earning 5% cash back on travel booked through the Chase Travel Portal, 3% cash back at drugstores and restaurants (including delivery and takeout), 1.5% cash back on all other purchases and no annual fee. When paired with cards like the Chase Sapphire Reserve® Card or Ink Business Cash® Credit Card, you can use your points to travel for free.
