The rebate is valid on in-store purchases only. As with other Staples gift card promotions, there’s a limit of 1 rebate per household.

Who Should Take Advantage of This Offer

Buying gift cards at Staples is an easy way to earn lots of points. And you can even make money.

Here’s how it works: $13.90 ($6.95 fee per $200 MasterCard card) – $15 Staples gift card = -$1.10.

The $400 cost of the MasterCard gift cards are not included because you can pay bills, or use them to load your BlueBird or Target REDCard.

Who Should Skip This Deal

Unlike the recent Visa gift card promotion, instead of earning a prepaid Visa card, you only earn a Staples gift card.

And you can’t use Staples gift cards to buy other Visa or MasterCard gift cards or other gift cards. You can only use a Staples gift card for purchases.

How to Salvage The Offer

If you aren’t buying other things at Staples, the $15 Staples gift card is useless to you. Unless you can trade or resell it.

Let’s assume you the worst case scenario: you sell your $15 Staples gift card for $7.

You’ve made $8.10 and a lot of points. Because it cost you -$1.10 to earn the $15 gift card and you resold it for $7.
