The Southwest 50,000 point credit card is back. But you should hurry because these links probably won’t be around much longer.

Update: The credit card offer in this post is no longer available. The new offer is 50,000 points after spending $1,000 on purchases in the first three months. Check our credit card page for the latest offers.

Southwest 50,000 point credit card offer is back for the Southwest Premier cards

There are 3 Southwest Airlines credit cards that offer 50,000 points after spending $1,000 in purchases in the first 3 months of opening your account.

Free Travel for 2 Years

The sign-up bonus counts towards the 135,000 points you need to get a Southwest Companion Pass. The Companion Pass lets you bring someone with you every time you travel on Southwest Airlines.

By getting two Southwest credit cards and completing the minimum spending, you will earn a Southwest Companion Pass. So you and a friend can fly free for two years. You only pay airport taxes and fees of about $10.

The Southwest Companion Pass is good for the year you earned it AND until the end of the following year.

It’s a great deal for families. Because your companion can be anyone: your spouse, child, family member, or friend. Each parent can earn a Companion Pass, choose a child as their companion, and your family travels for free.

You can easily earn the 135,000 Southwest points in one week. Check out the step-by-step details in my how to fly free for two years post.

2 Cards in 1 Day

Chase doesn’t let you apply for two personal cards at the same time. But because the Southwest Rapid Rewards® Premier Credit Card is a personal card and the Southwest® Rapid Rewards® Premier Business Credit Card is a business card, you can apply for both cards on the same day.

Conclusion

The 60,000 point sign-up bonus is back on the Southwest Rapid Rewards® Premier Credit Card. But this offer could be pulled soon. Update: The new offer on the personal card is 50,000 points after spending $1,000 on purchases in the first three months of opening your account.

With the Southwest® Rapid Rewards® Premier Business Credit Card, you can earn 60,000 points after spending $3,000 on purchases in the first 3 months of account opening.

This is the best time to apply for the Southwest 60,000 point credit card if you want to earn a Southwest Companion Pass.

The sign-up bonus counts towards the Southwest Companion Pass. So getting two credit cards and meeting the minimum spending to earn 135,000 points, lets you fly free for two years.

Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card

The Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card is the best card to get started in the world of miles and points. It is the first card you should get to start traveling for free because the welcome offer is 60,000 points after spending $4,000 in the first three months.

My favorite perks about this card are earning 5X points on travel when booked through the Chase portal (2X if direct purchase), 3X points on dining, $50 yearly credit on hotels booked through the Chase portal, no foreign transaction fees, and transferring points to 13 airline and hotel partners like Hyatt, United, and Southwest.

Chase Freedom Unlimited®

The Chase Freedom Unlimited® is one of my favorite cards for earning cash back card and travel rewards. It offers a welcome offer of an additional 1.5% cash back on all your purchases up to $20,000 your first year.

My favorite perks about this card are earning 5% cash back on travel booked through the Chase Travel Portal, 3% cash back at drugstores and restaurants (including delivery and takeout), 1.5% cash back on all other purchases and no annual fee. When paired with cards like the Chase Sapphire Reserve® Card or Ink Business Cash® Credit Card, you can use your points to travel for free.
