Mlife Double Dip Trick for Hyatt and Southwest Shut Down?

Share with a friend

In 2013 M life became partners with Hyatt and Southwest. So when you stay at certain M life hotels you can earn M life tier points, Hyatt points and stay credit, and Southwest points. Yep, it was a trifecta: you got points from M life, Hyatt, and Southwest for every hotel stay. But has the mlife double dip trick for Hyatt and Southwest shut down?

My M life stays from earlier this year posted to both my Hyatt and Southwest accounts. But my reservations from the beginning of this month have not. Has this travel hack been shut down?

Get Hyatt Points and Stay Credit for M life Hotel Stays

When you stay at the Monte Carlo and other participating M life hotels, those stays counts towards Hyatt nights. Traveling Well For Less

Cheap stays at hotels like the Monte Carlo can get you Hyatt points

With the Hyatt M life partnership, when you stay at participating M life hotels, those stays counts towards Hyatt nights.

Participating M life resorts include:

And you get 600 Southwest points when you stay at those M life hotels.

When checking in, make sure that your M life, Hyatt, and Southwest numbers are on your account and reservation.

So you could double dip and get a Hyatt night and points PLUS 600 Southwest points for one M life hotel stay. This meant that you could earn 15,000 Southwest points and Hyatt Diamond elite status for about $1,200 a year.  (Based on a $48 a night hotel stay including taxes and resort fees x 25.)

But this double dip trick might be over.

Mlife Double Dip Trick for Hyatt and Southwest Shut Down?

You get Hyatt stay credit and points AND Southwest points when you stay at select M life hotels. But has this travel hack been shut down? Traveling Well For Less investigates.

Has the Mlife double dip hack been shut down?

When I’ve stayed at M life resorts, the points and stay credit post to both my Hyatt and Southwest accounts within 4 days. However, for some people it takes 30 days or longer for their Hyatt stay and points to be credited to their account. But this time, only the Southwest points posted. The Hyatt points and stay credits are missing.

I knew something was wrong my reservations were still showing in my M life account. Normally they disappear after your stay. Don’t get me started on the whole what is wrong with M life’s system. And how you can’t see previous reservations, current reservations, etc.

So I called M life. Yeah, I know. But I called anyway. And the helpful representative looked into it and firmly told me, “For the whole time I’ve worked here, you can only get points in one program. You can not get points in both programs.”

Hmm…But we know that sometimes the customer service representatives might be wrong… Because you’ve probably also been double dipping Hyatt and Southwest points for your cheap M life stays.

I’m heading back out to Las Vegas soon so I’ve made another M life reservation to test and see if the trick is still working. I’ll keep you posted on whether I get my Hyatt points and stay for the two reservations I’m missing and if the new reservation posts.

Conclusion

You can get Hyatt stay credit and points AND Southwest points when you stay at certain M life hotels.

So you could book a cheap Mlife hotel and quickly earn Hyatt Diamond elite status for about $1,200 a year. And pick up 15,000 Southwest points at the same time.

Points usually post in a few days but can take up to 30 days. But recently, Hyatt stay credits haven’t posted.
