I visited Little Italy Food Hall for a sneak peek at some of the offerings for the Taste of Little Italy. Grain and Grit Collective and the Little Italy Food Hall hosted the event for our San Diego Travel Massive group.
Despite having opened three years ago, this was my first visit to the food hall, but it won’t be my last. So be sure to watch for that post.
Little Italy Food Hall Bar

I arrived early and enjoyed a craft cocktail from the Little Italy Food Hall Bar. All the cocktails sounded refreshing but The Lady Marmalade sang out to me, “Hey sista, go sista, soul sista, flow sista” and I couldn’t resist.
The bar was out of apricot jam so the bartender improvised with Blood Orange. The tasty blend hit the spot with just the right amount of sweetness to complement the bourbon.
Graze by Sam

We started the evening with Graze by Sam’s edamame Szechuan Dumplings. If you normally don’t like edamame, one bit of this dumpling will change your mind. A delightful bite full of flavor with a crisp yet not overdone crunch.
Mein St. Asian Kitchen

Our second course was Mein St. Asian Kitchen’s salt & pepper wings. Marinated with a blend of Szechuan spices and sprinkled with sun-dried chili flakes and green onions. But don’t worry, it’s not overly spicy. Just enough heat to give it some kick. Finger-licking good, perfectly cooked, these wings are added to my last meal on earth list.
Ambrogio15

Pizza. Enough said. We were offered a choice of the Margherita or Salamino Piccante (spicy salami). Salami, yes, please. This is thin crust pizza at its finest. The pizza’s paper-thin slices will transport you to Italy.
Not Not Tacos

Mashed potato isn’t just for Thanksgiving. Now you can have it in a taco at Not Not Taco. This is a great option for vegans and vegetarians who want their taco fix.
SamBurgers

Seasoned fries topped with no-bean chili and melted American cheese from Samburgers will ruin you on fries. You won’t be able to go back to regular fries. This was a great blend of flavors where everything worked together.
Bobboi Natural Gelato

We finished the evening with a choice of mocha gelato or strawberry sorbet from Bobboi Natural Gelato. Both sounded amazing but I choose the gelato. The Mocha is their most popular flavor, how could I resist?
The creamy silk gelato is the perfect way to end your evening at the Little Italy Food Hall.
Everything was outstanding but the salt & pepper wings stole the show. I’ve already planned a return trip to get more of those wings plus try some of the other items.
Be sure to check out the 13th annual Taste of Little Italy on June 22 and June 23, 2021.
