Acel Performance & Recovery Compression Socks for Long Flights

Share with a friend

Disclosure: I received the Acel Performance & Recovery Compression Socks in exchange for my unbiased review.  All opinions are 100% mine.

Compression socks are one of seven things I bring on long flights, including flights to Hawaii and transcontinental flights from the West Coast to East Coast.

Not only do they help prevent blood clots (deep vein thrombosis), they make a huge difference in how I feel during and after the flight.

When you’re stuck in coach (because your upgrades didn’t clear or you found a killer airfare deal) or flying a redeye, compression socks are a quick way to survive a long flight.

So when I was given the opportunity to review a pair of Acel Performance & Recovery Compression Socks, they didn’t have to ask me twice. I jumped at the chance.

Since I was reviewing a pair during the summer and didn’t have any upcoming flights, I was initially dreading having to put on such thick socks when it was boiling hot outside.

But surprisingly, they weren’t hot at all. The socks were comfortable and cool.

Putting Them On

Because compression socks can be a little tricky to put on, Acel has a quick 4 step instructional guide to properly putting on your socks.

The socks will feel extremely tight, like a noose for your foot, when you’re putting them on. But no worries. Once you slide those babies on, your feel and calves will feel terrific. You just have to get past step 1.

Post-Exercise Recovery

If you don’t fly often, you can wear the Acel Performance & Recovery Compression socks after you workout or run to speed up your recovery process. You can even wear them while working out.

I wanted to test Acel’s claim that these socks reduce recovery time, so I put on my pair after I did 2 hours of Zumba (yep, two hours of pulsating, high-energy, dancing). Naturally I took a shower first.

Instead of feeling tired and achy, I felt energized and alive. Since then I’ve been using these every week when I power out 2 sessions of Zumba.

And because they’re so comfy, I’ve worn these while running errands and just hanging out at home. Confession: I’m wearing them as I write this blog post.

I’m looking forward to wearing these on my upcoming international flight.

You can buy the Acel Performance & Recovery Compression socks on Amazon for $34.95. Shipping is free for Amazon Prime members. Don’t have Amazon Prime? You can try Amazon Prime for FREE for 30 days.

Conclusion

You can reduce your chance of getting blood clots (deep vein thrombosis) when flying long distances or standing for hours on your feet by wearing compression socks like the Acel Performance & Recovery Compression socks.

Even if you don’t fly these socks are a great way to help your body recover after running or working out. You won’t feel as tired and the moisture wicking material is comfortable on your feet.

Do you wear compression socks when you travel? If not, what’s stopped you from trying them?
