Chase Freedom 5% Cash Back Ending

Share with a friend

If you have the Chase Freedom Flex℠ and the Chase Freedom Unlimited® you may have been enjoying earning 5% cash back (5X points) at grocery stores. But the Chase Freedom 5% cash back bonus is ending on January 13, 2021.

Update: the grocery store bonus is extended.

Over the summer Chase added 5% cash back on groceries the Chase Freedom Flex and the Chase Freedom Unlimited®, adding another great benefit to these no annual fee cards.

The 5% cash back or 5X points offer applied to all grocery purchases (Target and Walmart excluded) up to $12,000 during the first 12 months of having the card.

But that limited time offer is coming to an end on January 13, 2021.

Still Time to Get 5 % Cash Back

You will still get 5% cash back on groceries after that date if you haven’t already met the $12k max threshold if you currently have those cards.

But new applications for those cards after that date will not have the 5% cash back grocery benefit.

Pro-tip: If you want that perk and don’t have the Chase Freedom Flex or the Chase Freedom Unlimited, you can still get those cards. As long as you submit your application by January 12, 2021.
