Want to learn how to travel for free? Come to a miles and points presentation.

I’m excited because it’s a topic that I’m passionate about. And I’m willing to bet, you might be too. 🙂

Come to a Miles and Points Presentation

the words passion led us here on a sidewalk

This is a casual one-day event where you’ll learn about miles and points, travel hacking (turning those miles and points into free trips), and financial independence.

I’m the featured guest speaker at the ChooseFi San Diego meetup on Saturday, January 12, 2019.

The event is from 10 am to 3 pm.

Here’s the schedule:

  • 10:00 AM – Introductions
  • 10:15 AM – Travel Hacking — Debra Schroeder, Traveling Well for Less, will share her insights / Group Discussion
  • 11:15 AM – Break/Mingle
  • 11:30 AM – Best Practices: Daily, Weekly, Monthly Habits & Routines for FI/FIRE Success — Group Discussions
  • 12:30 PM – Break/Mingle
  • 12:45 PM – Holiday Detox – Group Discussions
  • 1:30 PM – Q&A, Goals, & Member Wins – Group Discussion

In case you’re not familiar with the acronyms: FI stands for Financial Independence and FIRE stands for Financial Independence Retire Early.

Cost is $0.

Yep, it’s totally free.

Location:

San Diego New Church
2701 Meadow Lark Drive
San Diego, CA 92123

Come, listen, and share.

Hope to see you there!

Chase Sapphire Preferred

The Chase Sapphire Preferred is the best card for beginning travel hackers. It is the first card you should get to start traveling for free because the welcome offer is 60,000 points (after spending $4,000 in the first three months).

My favorite perks about this card are earning 2X points on travel and dining, no foreign transaction fees, and transferring points to 13 airline and hotel partners like Hyatt, United, and Southwest.

Chase Freedom Unlimited

The Chase Freedom Unlimited is one of my favorite cards for earning cash back card and travel rewards. It offers a welcome offer of $200 (after spending $500 in the first three months).

My favorite perks about this card are earning 5% cash back at grocery stores the first 12 months (up to $12k), unlimited 1.5% cash back on all purchases and no annual fee. When paired with cards like the Chase Sapphire Reserve, you can use your points to travel for free.

      Hi Carl,

Thanks. Yep, still doing it. Not sure why it shows deleted but it’s happening. It’s a monthly event but the topics vary depending on a group vote. Hope to see you there. 🙂

Thanks, Debra. I couldn’t make it work on such short notice. Hopefully you’ll do one of these again and will know further in advance. I love an excuse to come to SAN!
