Double Miles To/From Latin America

American Airlines is offering up to double miles to/from Latin America.

With new routes and flights to Latin America, American is offering double miles when you fly any of their new routes.

American’s New Routes to Latin America:

  • Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) and Bogota, Columbia (BOG)
  • Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) and Roatan, Honduras (RTB)
  • Miami (MIA) and Cozumel, Mexico  (CZM)
  • Miami (MIA) and Curitiba (CWB) and Porto Alegre (POA)

2 Easy Steps to Earn Up Double Miles To/From Latin America

1. Registration prior to travel is required using promo code AALAM.
2. Fly any of American’s new routes to Latin America from November 21, 2013 through February 28, 2014.

The following routes begin November 21, 2013:

  • Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) and Bogota, Columbia (BOG)
  • Miami (MIA) and Cozumel, Mexico  (CZM)
  • Miami (MIA) and Curitiba (CWB) and Porto Alegre (POA)

The Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) and Roatan, Honduras (RTB) route begins November 23,  2013.

Summary of the fine print:

  • Registration prior to travel is required
  • Bonus miles are only valid on nonstop American Airlines flights between Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) and Bogota (BOG) or Roatan (RTB); between Miami (MIA) and Cozmel (CZM), Curitiba (CWB) or Porto Alegre (POA)
  • Travel validity dates are November 21, 2013 through February 28, 2014
  • Bonus miles do not count towards elite or Million Miler status
  • Bonus miles are awarded on class of service purchased and flown

Chase Sapphire Preferred

The Chase Sapphire Preferred is the best card for beginning travel hackers. It is the first card you should get to start traveling for free because the welcome offer is 60,000 points (after spending $4,000 in the first three months).

My favorite perks about this card are earning 2X points on travel and dining, no foreign transaction fees, and transferring points to 13 airline and hotel partners like Hyatt, United, and Southwest.

Chase Freedom Unlimited

The Chase Freedom Unlimited is one of my favorite cards for earning cash back card and travel rewards. It offers a welcome offer of $200 (after spending $500 in the first three months).

My favorite perks about this card are earning 5% cash back at grocery stores the first 12 months (up to $12k), unlimited 1.5% cash back on all purchases and no annual fee. When paired with cards like the Chase Sapphire Reserve, you can use your points to travel for free.
