Earn 1,000 American Miles and 500 Hyatt Points

You can double dip miles and points when you stay at Hyatt Place and Hyatt House hotel worldwide through June 30, 2018. But you have to register by April 30, 2018.

When you stay at Hyatt Place or Hyatt House you earn 500 points per stay if you’re a World of Hyatt member and have selected points as your earning preference. Now you can also earn 1,000 American Airlines miles.

If miles are your earning preference, you’ll earn the standard 500 miles plus the 1,000 bonus American miles.

There’s no limit to how many miles you can earn. But you can only earn miles for 1 room each night regardless of how many rooms you book.

Pro-tip: You earn the miles on free night awards! And you earn elite status on free nights. 🙂

How to Maximize This Offer

When you stay at Hyatt Place or Hyatt House you’ll earn 1,000 bonus American miles. You can maximize this offer if you think nights vs stays.

A stay is the total number of consecutive nights at one hotel. So your stay could be 1 night or several nights. Because you earn the 1,000 bonus American miles for each stay, this is where one night stands pay off.

Let’s say you stay at Hyatt Place San Diego/Vista-Carlsbad for one night. You’ll earn 500 Hyatt points and 1,000 American miles. If you stay 2 nights, you’ll still only earn 500 points and 1,000 miles. And if you stay 7 nights, the most you’ll earn is 500 and 1,000 miles.

But if you stay 1 night at Hyatt Place San Diego/Vista-Carlsbad and 1 night at Hyatt House San Diego/Carlsbad, you’ll earn more points.

When you split your stay between two Hyatt Place and/or Hyatt House hotels, you’ll double your points and miles. Here’s how it breaks down.

You’ll earn 500 Hyatt points and 1,000 American miles for your stay at Hyatt Place San Diego/Vista-Carlsbad. And you’ll earn 500 Hyatt points and 1,000 American miles for your stay at Hyatt House San Diego/Carlsbad.

By staying at two hotels for the two nights you’ll learn 1,000 Hyatt points and 2,000 American miles. Now imagine that multiplied by several nights. For a 7-night vacation, you could earn 7,000 American miles and 3,500 Hyatt points!

That’s why bouncing between hotels pays off during these kinds of promotions. It’s a little bit more work but the pay off is worth it.

Summary of the Fine Print

  • You have to be a World of Hyatt and an AAdvantage member
  • Register for the offer by April 30, 2018
  • Stay at Hyatt Place or Hyatt House through June 30, 2018
  • It can take up four to six weeks for miles to post

Conclusion

You can double dip and 1,000 American miles and 500 Hyatt points for each stay at all Hyatt Place or Hyatt House hotels through June 30, 2018.

To take advantage of this offer you have to register by April 30, 2018, and be a member of World of Hyatt and AAdvantage. (It’s free to join both.)

Each stay earns 1,000 bonus American miles. If you have a multi-day stay coming up it makes sense to use the one-night stand technique and bounce hotels. This way you’ll earn at least double the miles.
