Get 15,000 Club Carlson points with every 2 night stay and 30,000 Club Carlson points for every 3 night stay

You’ll earn 15,000 Club Carlson points when you stay 2 nights and 30,000 Club Carlson points for stays of 3 nights.

2 Easy Steps to Extend Your Stay, Earn 30K Each Stay With Club Carlson

1.  Register for the Extend Your Stay, Earn 30K promotion here.
2.  Stay 3 consecutive nights at a participating Club Carlson hotel from now through March 29, 2015.

How many points can you earn?

For every stay of 2 nights, you’ll earn a bonus of 15,000 Club Carlson points.

And you’ll earn a 30,000 Club Carlson point bonus for every stays of 3 nights.

There isn’t anything in the fine print to indicate a maximum amount of points you can earn.  So theoretically you could earn an unlimited amount of bonus Club Carlson points.

However, realistically you can earn 765,000 Club Carlson points if you stayed at Club Carlson hotels every night from now through March 29, 2015.

To earn 765,000 points you’d have to stay 3 consecutive nights, 25 times and then a single 2 night stay.

Maximizing the deal

1.  Hotel hop

Because you only get 30,000 bonus Club Carlson points when you stay 3 consecutive nights or more, if you’re staying more 5 nights or more you should split your stays.

For example, there are 8 Club Carlson hotels in the Orlando area.  So if you’re taking your family to Disney for 6 nights, you could stay 3 nights at the Radisson Hotel Orlando – Lake Buena Vista and then 3 nights at the Radisson Resort Orlando-Celebration.

By hotel hopping you’d double your bonus and earn 60,000 bonus Club Carlson points.

After a long day at Disney, enjoy a dip in the Radisson Hotel Orlando – Lake Buena Vista pool while collecting 30,000 bonus Club Carlson points!

2.  Adding an extra night

If you already have a Club Carlson hotel stay, it could be worth paying for an extra night to get the 15,000 or 30,000 bonus points.

Especially if you have the US Bank Club Carlson Premier card because you get a free night when you redeem 2 award nights so basically a BOGO (buy 1, get 1) but using Club Carlson points.

You can buy Club Carlson points for 0.7 cents per point in increments of 1,000 points.  So $7 gets you 1,000 Club Carlson points.

15,000 Club Carlson points will cost $105, and 30,000 points costs $210.

So if you’re already staying 1 night at the Radisson Hotel Cleveland Airport West, it’s worth paying $81 to stay 2 nights and get a bonus of 15,000 Club Carlson points.

3.  Cheap hotels

Some Club Carlson hotels are inexpensive so it could be worth doing a mattress run for the bonus points.

You’d pay $204 to stay 3 nights at the Country Inn & Suites by Carlson, Prospect Heights, a $6 savings over buying the 30,000 points outright.

It could be worth it not to have to make your bed or breakfast for 3 nights, watch cable tv, and swim in a heated pool during the winter.

Or book a stay for your next out of town trip.  You’ll get bonus Club Carlson points, free parking, and free shuttle to the airport.

Points + Cash don’t count

You can earn the bonus points on all cash paid stays.  So Points + Cash bookings don’t count which is a bummer for people who want to save cash.

Whereas when you book Points + Cash stays with Hyatt they count towards elite qualifying nights and promotional stays.

Summary of the fine print

  • You have to register before your first stay
  • Only stays from January 12, 2015 and March 29, 2015 count
  • You get 30,000 Club Carlson points for a 3 night stay and 15,000 Club Carlson points for a 2 night stay
  • Points + Cash rates do not qualify
