1 Easy Step to Get a Bonus of 10,000 Club Carlson Points Per Night With Club Carlson Mega Points

1.  Book a stay at any participating Radisson hotel through December 31, 2015, using promo code MEGAPTS.

Club Carlson Mega Points = 10,000 Club Carlson Points Per Night

When you book at participating Radisson hotels (US, Canada, Mexico, Caribbean, Central America, and South America) using promo code MEGAPTS you’ll earn a bonus of 10,000 Club Carlson points per night.

So if you stay 7 nights at the Radisson Aquatica Resort Barbados you’ll earn 70,000 bonus Club Carlson points.

And you get 20 Club Carlson points per $1 spent on your room plus any additional bonuses you qualify for such as:

  • 15% bonus Club Carlson points as a Silver member
  • 35% bonus Club Carlson points as a Gold member
  • 75% bonus Club Carlson points as a Concierge member
  • 10 additional points per $1 spent if you have the US Bank Club Carlson Premier card

Stack Promotions

I’ve had success with stacking Club Carlson promotions that don’t require multiple promo codes.

So you can stack the Mega Points promotion with the Extend Your Stay, 30K Point promo and the Triple Points promotion (targeted).

But…

Sometimes promo rates are more expensive and it might be cheaper to book the lowest nightly rate.

But you should compare how much it would cost you to earn the bonus Club Carlson points with how much it would cost to buy Club Carlson points.

For example, using the Mega Points promo code at the Radisson Suite Hotel Oceanfront for May 22, 2015 to May 24, 2015, you’ll pay $209 per night ($466.08 total).

But booking the lowest nightly rate you would only pay $169 per night ($376.88 total).

So you’re paying $89.20 for the 20,000 bonus points or .04 cents per point.  Given that Club Carlson sells points for 0.7 cents per point, it’s still cheaper to book the Mega Points promo rate than to buy points from Club Carlson.

Club Carlson Mega Points Promo is worth paying more Traveling Well For Less
When is it worth paying more for a promo rate?

However, you could also get 20,000 Club Carlson points for only $31.60, if you have the US Bank Club Carlson Premier card.

How?  By buying 8, $500 Simon Mall Visa gift cards and paying a $3.95 fee for each card.

You earn 5 Club Carlson points for every $1 you spend (10 points for every $1 spent at Club Carlson hotels) with the US Bank Club Carlson Premier card.

So buying $4,000 in gift cards yields 20,000 Club Carlson points.  Then load those cards to your American Express Prepaid Target RedCard.  Boom 20,000 Club Carlson points and no mattress running or sleeping at a hotel required.

Summary of the Fine Print

  • You have to book using promotion code MEGAPTS
  • Promo is valid at participating hotels in North America, South America, Central America, and the Caribbean
  • Stay must be completed by December 31, 2015
  • Bonus points will post 14 days after checkout

Chase Sapphire Preferred

The Chase Sapphire Preferred is the best card for beginning travel hackers. It is the first card you should get to start traveling for free because the welcome offer is 60,000 points (after spending $4,000 in the first three months).

My favorite perks about this card are earning 2X points on travel and dining, no foreign transaction fees, and transferring points to 13 airline and hotel partners like Hyatt, United, and Southwest.

Chase Freedom Unlimited

The Chase Freedom Unlimited is one of my favorite cards for earning cash back card and travel rewards. It offers a welcome offer of $200 (after spending $500 in the first three months).

My favorite perks about this card are earning 5% cash back at grocery stores the first 12 months (up to $12k), unlimited 1.5% cash back on all purchases and no annual fee. When paired with cards like the Chase Sapphire Reserve, you can use your points to travel for free.
