Merinte DayPack, a Backpack in a Pocket

Share with a friend

Whether you hike, travel, or shop, a daypack is essential. Although some people use a regular backpack, having a smaller daypack is more convenient and easier on your back.

Disclosure: I received the Merinte DayPack TRAVELPACK – MINI RUCKSACK “MY BACKPACK IN A POCKET” in exchange for my unbiased review.  All opinions are 100% mine.

I’m always on the hunt for extra daypacks.  But finding space and putting them away can be a problem. So I was excited to learn about the Merinte DayPack TRAVELPACK – MINI RUCKSACK “MY BACKPACK IN A POCKET.”

Merinte DayPack, a Backpack in a Pocket

Merinte DayPack Backpack in a Pocket

Lightweight, compact daypack that folds into itself

The Merinte DayPack:

  • Comes in 2 color combinations (gray/pink or blue/black)
  • Folds into a pocket
  • Lightweight (4.5 ounces) but can hold 41 pounds
  • Includes a key hook for keys or to hang the daypack
  • Has padded shoulder straps
  • Has reflective strips
  • Has a 12 month warranty

I have rain jackets that fold into a pocket, so I thought the Merinte DayPack would be constructed out of heavier material.  But I was pleasantly surprised by the thin polyester material.  It makes it much easier to fold and put away.

Easily folds into a pocket

The front pocket can store your wallet, car keys, and sunglasses. While the larger main pocket can hold everything else. And I do mean everything else. You’ll be surprised by how much you can pack in this compact bag.

Many Uses

1) Shopping Bag

Because the fabric is thin you can see what’s in the daypack, so you may not want to use it to carry valuables or anything private. You can use it as a shopping bag.

So ditch those grocery store plastic bags and use the Merinte Backpack in a Pocket.  Unless you don’t want your neighbors knowing how much rhubarb you’re buying.

2) Extra Piece of Luggage

Can’t resist that souvenir (or duty free alcohol, perfume, or chocolate) at the airport?  Stuff those items in the Merinte DayPack and claim it as your personal item.  The daypack can hold up to 41 pounds.  Not that you’ll want to schlep all that on your back, but you could if you had to…

3)  Beach or Gym Bag

The Merinte DayPack, Backpack in a Pocket is the perfect size for a beach tote or gym bag.  You can easily fit your swim suit, towel, sunscreen, and a book and still have room for a snack and bottle of water.

If you have a toddler, the Merinte DayPack is the perfect weight to give your little one a sense of independence without being too heavy to burden and make carrying the daypack painful.

Easy to Put Away

The Merinte DayPack, Backpack in a Pocket folds easily into it’s pocket.  Because the material is practically weightless, you don’t have to worry about which way to fold the daypack.  Simply roll or shove back into the pocket.  And it takes only about 5 seconds to unpack and pack.  Wouldn’t it be nice it all packing was like that?
