Miami to Ecuador $399 total roundtrip LAN

Plan on spending Cyber Monday glued to your computer screen for amazing airfare deals such as Miami to Ecuador from $399 total roundtrip.

I was reading Angelina’s blog, Just Another Points Traveler, this morning about her $300 roundtrip New York to Buenos Aires find.  I couldn’t replicate it as everything was coming up in the $800’s for me.

So instead I went to the source, LAN, and discovered their Cyber Monday sale.  Fares from $399 such as Miami to Ecuador from $399 total roundtrip.

Fares are valid for travel March 1, 2013 – June 30, 2013.

Here’s what I came up with:

Miami to Ecuador for $398.70

Miami to Quito $398.70 LAN

LAN is part of the OneWorld Alliance so you can earn American Airlines miles per the chart below:

PLUS when you fly LAN it will count towards your American Airlines elite qualification, depending on the fare code booked.

Class of Service Applicable Flights Purchased Fares Booked in: Base Miles (elite status qualifying) Class of Service Bonus Miles Elite Qualifying Points per Mile Earned
First Class All A, F 100% 50% 1.50
Business Class All C, D, I, J 100% 25% 1.50
Premium Economy Class International flights within South America P, W 100% 25% 1.50
Economy Class All Y, B, H, K, L, M, V 100%   1.00
Deep Discount Economy Class Within Chile G, N, Q, S 25%   .50
Deep Discount Economy Class Within Peru G, N, Q, S 25%   .50
Deep Discount Economy Class Within Argentina N, Q, S 25%   .50
Deep Discount Economy Class Within Ecuador N, O, Q, S 25%   .50
Deep Discount Economy Class Within South America G, N, O, Q, S 25%   .50
  Other International G, N, O, Q, S 100%   .50

* LAN considers Easter Island (IPC) to be part of Chile for the purpose of earning miles. Therefore, mileage accrual for Economy Class travel to/from Easter Island (IPC) will be calculated according to the chart above as follows:

  • Travel between Santiago (SCL) and Easter Island (IPC) is considered “within Chile”
  • Travel between Lima (LIM) and Easter Island (IPC) is considered “within South America”
  • Travel between Papeete (PPT) and Easter Island (IPC) is considered “Other International”

Are you going to take advantage of the LAN Cyber Monday sale?  If so, where will you fly to?

I’ve never been to Ecuador and for less than $398 roundtrip the price is right.  I’m hoping to also find a flight from New York or Los Angeles or San Francisco to Buenos Aires for $399 roundtrip.  You know where I’ll be this morning…yep, right in front of my computer searching for airfares.  How about you?
