Are you leaving miles on the table?  Did you know you can earn miles for shopping?  That’s right, you can earn miles for doing something that you would ordinarily do.  Here’s how:

Many of the airlines have an eshopping portal where not only will you earn miles for your shopping, but you can earn bonus miles. And if you use your airline affiliated credit card, additional miles.

Like magazines? Order your favorites and receive 23 miles for every dollar spent.

Want to avoid the crowds during Nordstrom’s Half Yearly Sale?  Stay at home in your PJs, shop online, and earn 3 miles for every dollar spent.

Here’s a list of airline eshopping portals, click on each airline to be taken to their eshopping portal:

Chase Sapphire Preferred

The Chase Sapphire Preferred is the best card for beginning travel hackers. It is the first card you should get to start traveling for free because the welcome offer is 60,000 points (after spending $4,000 in the first three months).

My favorite perks about this card are earning 2X points on travel and dining, no foreign transaction fees, and transferring points to 13 airline and hotel partners like Hyatt, United, and Southwest.
