Here’s a summary of this week’s miles and points offers, deals, specials, and news that I haven’t posted on the blog:
Airlines
- Qatar Airlines will join Oneworld on October 30, 2013. This should open up more use of your miles.
- Southwest Airlines started enforcing no shows on September 13. Effective September 13, you must cancel your reservation no later than 10 minutes prior to departure to receive a travel credit. Failure to do so will result in forfeiting all travel funds.
- Double points (including elite qualifying points) on Virgin Atlantic when you fly Main Cabin Select or First Class between now through December 31, 2013. Registration is required. You can also earn up to 25,000 bonus points depending on how many qualifying points you’ve earned.
Car
- 1 Free Rental for every 2 rentals of 2 days or longer from National Rental Cars. Promotion is valid for rentals now through January 31, 2014. Registration is required.

My favorite perks about this card are earning 5% cash back on travel booked through the Chase Travel Portal, 3% cash back at drugstores and restaurants (including delivery and takeout), 1.5% cash back on all other purchases and no annual fee. When paired with cards like the card_name, you can use your points to travel for free.
