Aleah from Solitary Wanderer shared her photos from her trip as a solo traveler to Boracay.

Boracay is a tiny island in the Philippines.  In 2012, Boracay was named the best island in the world by Travel & Leisure magazine.

The least expensive time to visit Boracay is during the rainy season from May to October.  If price is no object and you want the best weather, you should visit from November to May.

How to get to Boracay, Philippines using miles and points

You have to fly into Manila to reach Boracay using airline miles and points.

The quickest way from Manila to Boracay is a 1 hour flight on Philippine Airlines, Asian Spirit, Cebu Pacific or Air Philippines to Caticlan on Panay Island.  From Caticlan you’ll take a 20 minute boat ride to Boracay.

Alaska Airlines offers the cheapest 1-way coach award flight to Manila for 30,000 Alaska Airlines miles and the  cheapest 1-way in Business Class ticket at 50,000 Alaska Airlines miles.

However, you’ll pay only 67,500 American Airlines miles to fly 1-way in First Class.

After reading Aleah’s post, I’m excited to go to Boracay.  How about you?  Is Boracay on your bucket list?
