Two Hyatt Hotels Change Category Today

The Hyatt Place Knoxville/Downtown and the Hyatt House Washington DC/The Wharf will cost more points.

Hyatt Place Knoxville/Downtown

Currently, the Hyatt Place Knoxville/Downtown is a Category 1 hotel. You can book a free night for 5,000 points per night.

But starting at 9:01 pm Central Time, it will change to a Category 2 hotel. Free nights will cost 8,000 points per night.

Hyatt House Washington DC/The Wharf

The Hyatt House Washington DC/The Wharf is a Category 2 hotel. You can use 8,000 points for a free night.

But you’ll need 12,000 points for a free night starting 9:01 pm Central Time today. Because it’s going to be a Category 3 hotel.

What Happens to Existing Reservations?

If you made or make a reservation before 9 pm Central Time today, your existing reservation will not be affected. Your booking will follow the current award chart.

The new award chart and higher category and point requirement will apply to reservations made at 9:01 pm Central Time on January 31, 2018, and beyond.

Pro-tip: If you make any changes to your existing reservations, the new award chart will go into effect. So do not change any existing bookings!

So if you were planning on staying at either the Hyatt Place Knoxville/Downtown and the Hyatt House Washington DC/The Wharf you should book them before 9 pm Central Time today.

Pro-tip: You can make future reservations through March 1, 2019.
