American Airlines is offering their biggest bonus of the year, up to 5,000 bonus points every flight, when you travel between the U.S. and London.

When you fly roundtrip between the United States and London Heathrow on American Airlines you can earn up to 5,000 bonus points for every flight between December 1, 2012 and February 28, 2013.

And the best part, there is no limit to the number of bonus points you can earn.  I’ll say it again, you can earn unlimited bonus points.

You’ll earn 5,000 bonus points when you book a roundtrip ticket between the U.S. and London Heathrow in First and Business Class, booking F, A, P, J, R, D or I fare codes.

You’ll earn 2,000 bonus points when you book a roundtrip ticket between the U.S. and London Heathrow in Economy, booking Y, W, B, or H fare codes.

Main Cabin

2,000 Bonus Points – enough for a round-trip, Main Cabin award ticket within North America

Registration prior to travel is required.

You must be enrolled in the Business ExtrAA program.  Need to enroll in Business ExtrAA? Sign up here.

2 Easy Steps to get up to 5,000 Bonus Points Every Flight:

  1. Register for the promotion using promotion code USLHRBONUS
  2. Fly nonstop roundtrip between the U.S. and London Heathrow on any American Airlines flight or AA* codeshare flight operated by British Airways. (If flying on AA codeshare flights operated by British Airways, ticket must be issued on American Airlines 001 ticket stock.)  Make sure your Business ExtrAA number is on the reservation or you will not earn the bonus points.

Summary of the fine print:

You must be enrolled in the Business ExtrAA® program and your Business ExtrAA account number must be in the reservation. Registration prior to travel using promotion code USLHRBONUS is required.

Roundtrip flights must start and end in the same city.  For example, a roundtrip JFK-LHR would earn the bonus points. A JFK-LHR-LHR-LGA would not.

You must book into the following fare classes: Eligible First Class fares include fares booked in F, A, or P; eligible Business Class fares include fares booked in J, R, D, or I; eligible Main Cabin fares include fares booked in Y, W, B or H

Eligible flights include non-stop flights between the United States and London Heathrow (LHR) on American Airlines or AA* codeshare flights operated by British Airways (American Airlines marketed and British Airways operated). Tickets must be issued on American Airlines 001 ticket stock in order to earn Business ExtrAA points.

Complete details of the offer and fine print can be found here.
