Say hello to 100,000 British Airways points (Avios). The lucrative British Airways Visa Signature up to 100,000 points offer is back.
But this offer ends on March 31, 2020.
This post was originally published on June 27, 2019, and was updated on February 13, 2020.
100,000 British Airways Points
You can earn up to 100,000 British Airways points (Avios) from the British Airways Visa Signature card through March 31, 2020.
But something to keep in mind…this is a tiered bonus offer.
You’ll earn 50,000 points (Avios) after spending $3,000 on purchases in the first three months of account opening. You can earn an additional 50,000 when you spend an additional $20,000 in the first year of having your card.
And you’ll be that much closer to earning the Travel Together Ticket which is valid for two years.
Because British Airways belongs to the oneworld alliance, you can use Avios points member airlines like American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, and more.
Pro-tip: It only costs 12,500 Avios one-way to Hawaii. With the 100,000 signup bonus, you could get 8 tickets to Hawaii!
If you currently have this card or it’s been less than 24 months since you had the card or received the bonus, you aren’t eligible for the signup bonus.
British Airways Visa Signature Card
The British Airways Visa Signature card perks include:
- Companion travel together certificate after spending $30,000
- 3X Avios points on British Airways purchases
- 1X Avios points on all other purchases
- No foreign transaction fees
Companion Travel Together Certificate
You only pay the taxes and government fees.
Unlike the Southwest Companion Pass unlimited use perk, the British Airways Companion Travel Together certificate can only be used for one flight.
But it’s a free flight so a win. 🙂
Should You Get This Card
For most people, it makes more financial sense to only go for the 50,000 points as the cost per mile is considerably less.
But if you spend $20,000 you’ll get another 50,000 points and within reach of earning a Travel Together Ticket.
You should do the math to decide if you’re content with the 50,000 British Airways points. Or if you want to go for the whole shebang and earn the 100,000 British Airways points.
The British Airways Visa Signature card is offering up to 100,000 British Airways points (Avios) signup bonus through March 31, 2020.100
You can use Avios points on airlines like American Airlines. So you can use Avios to fly in the US. It’s only 12,500 points to fly to Hawaii.
This is a tiered offer, so for most people, this will be a 50,000 point offer.
But it’s worth considering going for the 100,000 points. Because it gets you closer to earning the Travel Together certificate that lets a companion fly for free.
Decide not to go for the extra points? You can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points transfer on a 1:1 ratio to British Airways from cards like the Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Sapphire Reserve, and Ink Business Preferred.
