Discounted Southwest Points

You can buy discounted Southwest points for 30% off when you buy points by 11:59 pm CST January 22, 2019.

The discount kicks in when you buy at least 5,000 points.

Pro-tip: You can buy up to 60,000 Southwest points a day!

You can use the points you buy with your Southwest Companion Pass to fly you and your travel companion for free.

The Companion Pass is unlimited. You can fly as often as you want to any of the 100 cities and 10 countries including Belize and Cancun where Southwest flies.

Points take 72 hours to post so you should buy points at least 3 days before you want to use them in for flights.

Pro-tip: Buying points don’t count towards earning the Southwest Companion Pass (free flights for up to 2 years), A-List Preferred, or A-List status.

Earn 3X Points

When you buy points it doesn’t code as a travel purchase so paying for them with a card that earns a travel bonus like the card_name doesn’t earn any additional bonus points.

But you’ll earn 3X points when you buy Southwest points with your card_name on the first $150,000 spent on travel and select business categories.

Should You Buy Southwest Points?

This is a great way to stock up on extra points to add to the 50,000 point offer from all three personal Southwest credit cards: card_name, card_name, card_name, and a 60,000 point offer from the card_name.

You can earn 50,000 points after spending $1,000 on purchases in the first 3 months on all three personal Southwest cards: card_name, card_name, card_name. You can earn 60,000 points after spending $3,000 on purchases in the first 3 months of having the card_name.

Normally, Southwest points cost 2.75 cents per point. With this offer, you can buy points for 1.93 cents per point.

I’ve written about when you should buy airline miles. Buying miles or points can be worth it if you fly during the summer, holidays, and other times when airline tickets are expensive.

Buying points now and using them to book flights can be cheaper than paying cash for your tickets, especially for families.

Pro-tip: Buying discounted Southwest points is a great way to meet the minimum spending on new credit cards.

Conclusion

You can save 30% on discounted Southwest points when you buy points by January 22, 2019.

To get the discount you have to buy at least 5,000 points and up to 60,000 points.

Southwest lets you buy 60,000 points a day! So now’s the time to stock up and add to the 50,000 point offer from all three Southwest personal credit cards: card_name, card_name, card_name, and the 60,000 point card_name.

It can be cheaper to buy points now and redeem them for flights during the summer, holidays, or other peak travel periods when ticket prices are expensive.

Remember to use a credit card you need to meet minimum spending on. Or use your card_name to earn 3X points on the first $150,000 spent on travel and select business categories.

card_name is the best card to get started in the world of miles and points. It is the first card you should get to start traveling for free because the welcome offer is 60,000 points after spending $4,000 in the first three months.

My favorite perks about this card are earning 5X points on travel when booked through the Chase portal (2X if direct purchase), 3X points on dining, $50 yearly credit on hotels booked through the Chase portal, no foreign transaction fees, and transferring points to 13 airline and hotel partners like Hyatt, United, and Southwest.
