Note: Most of us aren’t flying right now. Current Dollar Flight Club deals are for late summer and fall.

I’ve written many posts about how to save money on airline tickets. From tricks to save money on airline tickets to tips to saving money on airfare. From the best websites to find cheap flights to how to find cheap First Class and Business Class tickets.

One might say finding a great deal on airfare is an obsession and they’d be right!

Thanks to Dollar Flight Club, I save time (and sanity) and so can you. Here’s my review of how to use Dollar Flight Club to find great deals on airline tickets.

Dollar Flight Club Review: Secret Hack for Cheap Airfare

Through a combination of technology and human ingenuity, Dollar Flight Club (DFC) finds the best airfare deals.

From smoking hot international flight deals to fantastic savings on flights within the United States, you’re going to love using Dollar Flight Club.

International deals include North America, Europe, Latin America, Australia, and New Zealand.

I’ve had a Premium Membership with Dollar Flight Club for almost a year. The emails of the airfare deals are so tempting it’s all I can do to not book every single one! Think fare alerts on steroids, but in a good way.

But before I get too far ahead of myself, let me explain how Dollar Flight Club works.

Plans & Pricing

Dollar Flight Club has three membership plans: Free, Premium, and Premium Plus.

Free Membership

With a Dollar Flight Club free membership, you get a small taste of DFC airfare deals from your departure region.

This means you can’t pick your home airport. Instead, you get a daily email of deals from a specific region.

On the free plan, North American residents can choose from six regions: West, Midwest, Southwest, Southeast, Northeast, or Canada.

If you live in New York and choose the Northeast, you’ll get emails that include fare deals from every airport in the Northeast. Great if you travel a lot or have the Southwest Companion Pass and can get to another airport. Not so great if you have limited vacation time and/or are traveling with family.

With the free membership, you’re sent about 1/4 of the deals and the emails include ads. Think of a free DFC membership as the Costco samples. A little taste to get you hooked.

Pro-tip: Emails to members on the free plan get sent later than Premium plan members. And as you know, deals can end quickly. By the time you get the email, the deal might already be dead.

Premium Membership

Dollar Flight Club Premium Members get all the airfare deals without ads. Unlike the free plan, with a Premium membership, you can get flight alerts from 5 airports.

This lets you get relevant airfare deals. No more wasting time wading through tons of deals from airports that aren’t close to you.

Deals that match your needs. Simple. Easy.

Emails get sent sooner to Premium and Premium Plus members.

If you live in an area with several airports like Southern California, Northern California, New York, or Florida, a DFC Premium membership easily pays for itself.

With a Premium membership, you can get alerts via text. This is a great feature because you won’t miss out on a deal.

Another great perk for Premium members is the Weekend Warrior Domestic Getaway Deals. These nonstop deals leave on Thursday and/or Friday and return Sunday and/or Monday.

Weekend Warrior deals are perfect for a quick getaway without having to take time off work or use vacation time. Think girls getaway trips, guys trips, and more!

The Dollar Flight Club Premium membership costs $69 a year. If you aren’t sure you want to commit, they offer a free 14 day trial.

Pro-tip: A Premium membership includes mistake fares aka error fares. Mistake fares rock! I flew to Dubai three times on a $274 roundtrip mistake fare.

Premium Plus Membership

With a Dollar Flight Club Premium Plus Membership, you get all the benefits of the Premium membership PLUS you get First Class and Business Class airfare deals.

If you’re like me, I’m love value luxury travel. In other words, First Class and Business Class for less.

A Premium Plus membership is perfect if you want to travel in style without breaking your budget.

Last year I booked several of the Cathay Pacific First Class and Business Class fares for $780.

During those trips, I visited the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Hanoi. You can read my reviews of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the Hilton Garden Inn Hanoi.

You also get a 20% discount on Mobile Passport Plus (a $15 a year value). With Mobile Passport Plan you get through customs faster. Think of it as Global Entry Lite without having to fill out an application and go through an interview. If you

The Premium Plus membership offers a 14 day free trial. After the trial ends, the Premium Plus membership costs $99 a year.

Pro-tip: A Premium Plus membership is worth the cost if you want to keep or earn elite status. Not only can you get cheap premium tickets but you’ll also earn more redeemable miles. So you can travel for free later!

Conclusion

Even if you only fly once or twice a year, you can save money on airline tickets with a Dollar Flight Club membership.

Finding award tickets to travel hack my way to other countries is my preferred way to travel. But when I need to requalify for elite status or can’t find award space, that’s where I love having a Dollar Flight Club Premium Plus membership.

Of the three DFC membership plans, the Premium membership is the best value for most people. Because you get all the fare alerts, you can choose 5 departure airports and can get text alerts.

If you prefer to fly in First Class or Business Class or want to earn elite status or requalify for elite status, it makes more sense to get a Premium Plus membership. Especially now when you can get it for 99% off!
