Earn 1,000 American Airlines Miles at World of Hyatt

You can earn 1,000 American Airlines miles at World of Hyatt hotels. Hyatt offered this promotion last year and like the previous offer, it comes with some restrictions.

When you stay at a participating World of Hyatt hotel in 10 cities in the US from July 5, 2022 through September 5, 2022, you’ll earn 1,000 American Airlines miles for each stay of 2 more more nights.

Pro-tip: There is no limit to how many miles you can earn from this offer. But stays have to be 2 consecutive nights at the same hotel.

You can only earn American miles for the room you occupy per stay regardless of how many rooms you pay for.

Miles earned under this promotion are bonus miles. They do not count as Loyalty Points so won’t count towards earning elite status with American.

You have to register by August 31, 2022.

It’s a good idea to sign up for this offer even if you don’t have any current plans to stay at Hyatt during the promotion period. Because your travel plans could change.

There are over 150 Hyatt hotels participating in this offer.

Your World of Hyatt account has to be set to earn Hyatt points and your account has to be linked to your American Airlines account to earn the 1,000 American Airlines miles for your Hyatt stay.

Pro-tip: Stays SLH hotels and MGM resorts will not earn the 1,000 American Airlines miles. So those cheap Las Vegas hotel stays won’t help you during this promotion.

Participating Hotels

You only earn the 1,000 American miles if you stay at one of the participating hotels in these 10 cities in these 10 states:

  • California
  • D.C.
  • Hawaii
  • Illinois
  • Maryland
  • Massachusetts
  • New York
  • Texas
  • Virginia
  • Washington

What You Should Know

You have to complete your stay by the last night of the promotion. This means you have to check in on September 4, 2022 and check out on September 5, 2022.

If you check in on September 5, 2022, you will not earn the bonus miles.

How to Maximize This Offer

You can maximize this offer with one night stays.

With the last promotion, you could stay one night at one hotel, and a second night at another to qualify to earn 1,000 American Airlines miles per Hyatt hotel stay.

But with this offer, your stay has to be 2 consecutive nights at the same hotel.

So if your stay is 4 nights you’ll only earn 1,000 AA miles. But if you move hotels and stay at 2 different participating Hyatt hotels, you’ll earn 2,000 AA miles.

Only you can decide if it’s worth your time and any inconvenience to switch hotels each night.

In cities like Chicago where there are lots of Hyatt hotels near each other, it’s easier to bounce hotels each night.

Pro-tip: By switching hotels, you could earn a Brand Explorer award.
