How to Get Another Free Night From Hyatt

With the addition of Two Roads Hospitality Destination Hotels the World of Hyatt has expanded the number of hotels where you can earn and use Hyatt points. This means you also have more places to earn free nights and you can get another free night at Hyatt.

Under the Brand Explorer (sometimes referred to as the Hyatt 5 Brand Award) you can earn a free night when you stay at five different Hyatt brands:

  • Alila
  • Andaz
  • Destination Hotels
  • Grand Hyatt
  • Hyatt
  • Hyatt Centric
  • Hyatt House
  • Hyatt Place
  • Hyatt Regency
  • Hyatt Residence Club
  • Hyatt Zilara
  • Hyatt Ziva
  • joie de vivre
  • Miraval
  • Park Hyatt
  • Thompson Hotels
  • Unbound

Pro-tip: Award stays (using points for free nights) and free night certificates count towards earning the Brand Explorer award.

When World of Hyatt introduced the Brand Explorer award there were only 13 Hyatt brands. You could only earn two Brand Explorer awards.

But now there are 17 Hyatt brands and you get another free night from Hyatt by staying at 15 different Hyatt brands. This means a total of three free night awards from the Brand Explorer awards (Hyatt 5 Brand Award).

Brand Explorer Award

Earn free nights at Hyatt when you stay at multiple Hyatt brands

You see your progress to the Brand Explorer Award in the World of Hyatt app. Click on “Account.” In the “Overview” tab scroll down to “Brand Explorer.”

For your first stay at each of the four new World of Hyatt brands: Alila, Destination Hotels, joie de vivre, and Thompson Hotels like Gild Hall in New York, you’ll earn 2,000 bonus points. You can earn a maximum of 8,000 points.

Pro-tip: You’ll earn a free night award when you stay at each of the four hotel brands by December 31, 2019.

Conclusion

You can earn four free nights at Hyatt without a credit card. Here’s how you can get another free night from Hyatt for a total of four free nights.

World of Hyatt Brand Explorer award lets you earn three free hotel nights when you stay at 15 different Hyatt hotel brands. And you’ll earn another free night when you stay at each of the four new World of Hyatt brands: Alila, Destination Hotels, joie de vivre, and Thompson Hotels by December 31, 2019.

Here’s how to easily earn four free nights. Stay at five different Hyatt hotel brands to earn your first free night. You’ll earn a second free night when you stay at five different Hyatt brands. After you stay at five more Hyatt brands, for a total of 15, you’ll earn a third free night. And if you stay at each of the four new Hyatt brands before December 31, 2019, you’ll earn a fourth free night.

As a bonus, you’ll also get 2,000 bonus points for your first stay at each of the new Hyatt brands.

I have two more Hyatt hotels to earn my third Brand Explorer award. I’m going to try to stay at two of the new Hyatt brands to get me closer to that fourth free night.

How about you? Are you going to try to get another free night from Hyatt?

Chase Sapphire Preferred

The Chase Sapphire Preferred is the best card for beginning travel hackers. It is the first card you should get to start traveling for free because the welcome offer is 60,000 points (after spending $4,000 in the first three months).

My favorite perks about this card are earning 2X points on travel and dining, no foreign transaction fees, and transferring points to 13 airline and hotel partners like Hyatt, United, and Southwest.

Chase Freedom Unlimited

The Chase Freedom Unlimited is one of my favorite cards for earning cash back card and travel rewards. It offers a welcome offer of $200 (after spending $500 in the first three months).

My favorite perks about this card are earning 5% cash back at grocery stores the first 12 months (up to $12k), unlimited 1.5% cash back on all purchases and no annual fee. When paired with cards like the Chase Sapphire Reserve, you can use your points to travel for free.
