Update: The credit card offer in this post is no longer available. Check our credit card page for the latest offers.

A free stay at the famous Miraval Arizona? Yep, here’s how. In January Hyatt acquired the Miraval Group, known worldwide for their wellness resorts. But the marriage (into the World of Hyatt loyalty program) wasn’t official until today. You can now earn and use Hyatt points at Miraval.

I’m pretty excited about this because I’ve always wanted to stay at Miraval Arizona Resort & Spa. When the boys were little I would go on getaway weekends at the Red Mountain Resort and Spa. For a mom with two boys, that was heaven! And Miraval Arizona is so much more luxurious!!

Keep reading to learn everything you need to know about how to earn and use Hyatt points at Miraval.

After Hyatt bought Miraval it was only a matter of time before Miraval joined the World of Hyatt loyalty program. And today’s the day!

Miraval has two resorts: Miraval Arizona Resort & Spa and Miraval Life and Balance Spa in Monarch Beach Resort. The Miraval Arizona is an adult only resort while the Miraval Monarch Beach is family-friendly.

Starting today the Miraval Arizona Resort & Spa is part of the World of Hyatt loyalty program. So all those Hyatt points you’ve been stocking up for a unique experience now’s your chance.

There’s no word yet when the Monarch Beach Resort joins the World of Hyatt loyalty program.

And when you stay at Miraval Arizona Resort & Spa you’ll earn 5 Hyatt points per dollar spent! But you won’t have to spend much while you’re there. Because you get unlimited meals, snacks, non-alcoholic beverages, over 120 activities and classes. Plus you get free transportation from the airport. Or free valet parking if you drive.

Pro-tip: Stays at Miraval count towards the Category 1 to 4 free night award for staying at 5 different Hyatt brands.

How Many Points Do You Need?

Miraval, a world famous all-inclusive resort, has its own category. You need a lot of Hyatt points to stay at Miraval Arizona Resort & Spa. But you get a $175 resort credit per person per day.

Here’s how many points you’ll need:

  • Standard Room: 45,000 points / 65,000 points (single/double occupancy)
  • Suite: 75,000 points / 95,000 points (single/double occupancy)

Pro-tip: You can’t redeem Hyatt points towards dining, spa, or more awards at Miraval.

Can 4 People Share a Room?

Some rooms at Miraval can accommodate four people. But, the award chart doesn’t show an option for to have more than two people in a room as it does for the other all-inclusive resorts like Hyatt Ziva. I’m waiting to hear back from Hyatt to confirm if you can use points for up to four people in a room.

Update: Per Hyatt, the maximum occupancy is 2 when using Hyatt points to stay at Miraval.

Points+Cash

You can use points+cash to stay at Miraval Arizona Resort & Spa. But Points+Cash is only available for standard rooms and not available for suites.

Standard Room: 22,500 points + $450 / 32,500 points + $550 (single/double occupancy)

Free Night Awards That You Can’t Use at Miraval

While you can use the two free nights from the Hyatt credit card to stay at Miraval, you can’t use:

  • Chase anniversary free night
  • Category 1 to 4 free night award for staying at 5 different Hyatt brands
  • Category 1 to 4 free night award for 30 qualifying nights or 50,000 base points in a calendar year
  • Category 1 to 7 free night for 60 qualifying nights or 100,000 base points in a calendar year
  • Category 1 to 7 free night award for Lifetime Globalists

Elite Benefits & Suite Upgrades

If you’re a Globalist, will you get 4 pm late checkout, early check-in, and suite upgrades? I’m not sure yet. I’m waiting to hear back from Hyatt and the website is unclear.

Update from Hyatt: Most of the elite World of Hyatt benefits apply including 4 pm late checkout (subject to availability) and free upgrades to standard suites (if available).

And yes, you can use a Globalist suite upgrade to upgrade from a standard room to a suite!

Authentic Circle

Miraval has their own loyalty program, Authentic Circle. Benefits of Authentic Circle include a free one night stay after seven paid nights and a $100 resort credit. You become a member after four qualifying stays or being a Miraval Villa Owner.

Earn Credit in Authentic Circle and Hyatt Points

You can earn credit in Authentic Circle and Hyatt points. This is how it works with Mlife. You earn Hyatt points and Mlife tier credits when you stay at participating Mlife resorts. But I’m waiting for confirmation from Hyatt.

4th Night Free

When you stay three nights, you get the fourth night free through September 15, 2017.

The 4th Night Free Package includes:

  • All meals, snacks and non-alcoholic drinks including smoothies
  • $100 daily resort credit
  • Free airport transfers (valet parking if driving)
  • Unlimited hiking, mountain biking, fitness classes, photography classes, and other activities
  • Daily yoga, fitness classes and more

Rates start at $389 per person.

50% Rebate on Redeemed Points

You get a 50% rebate when you redeem Hyatt points at Miraval Arizona through September 15, 2017.

So instead of paying 95,000 points a night (two people), it only costs 45,000 points. Plus you get $175 resort credit per person. The 50% rebate also applies to points+cash bookings.

You get your rebated points within 6 to 8 weeks after your stay.

Pro-tip: This is not combinable with the 10% bonus point promotion for Hyatt credit card holders.

Conclusion

You can earn and use Hyatt points at Miraval. This is exciting news because Miraval Arizona Resort & Spa has been on my bucket list for a long time. Maybe it’s been on yours?

For every dollar you spend at Miraval you get 5 Hyatt points. Because Miraval is an all-inclusive resort, you won’t have to spend much while you’re there. All meals, snacks, are lots of activities are included. You even get free airport transfers!

It takes 75,000 points to get a free night at Miraval. You can book a points+cash rate for 22,500 + $450. Or you can use the two free nights from the World of Hyatt credit card to stay at Miraval.
