Whether you should buy IHG points depends on how and when you’ll use your points.

You can save a lot of money buying points if you travel during school breaks, summer, and the holidays or if you stay in expensive hotels.

IHG points cost 1.35 cents per point when there isn’t a sale. During this offer, you can buy IHG points for 0.5 cents per point.

Points are sold in increments of 1,000. You have to buy at least 11,000 points to get the 100% bonus.

Each year you can buy a maximum of 150,000 points. If you bought 150,000 points, you’d earn 150,000 bonus points for a total of 300,000 points for $1500.

When purchasing hotel points, here’s what card to use.

Use whatever card you need to meet the minimum spending requirements to earn your bonus.

Because buying points doesn’t code as a travel purchase, it doesn’t make sense to pay with cards like the card_name or card_name. Because you won’t earn a travel category bonus.

If you have the card_name or the card_name, both offer a 20% discount when you buy points. But you can’t combine it with discounts. 😢

You could earn 3x points buying IHG points with your card_name. Because you earn 3x points on the first $150,000 spent on travel and select business categories.

Consider using a card that earns perks for spending such as the World of Hyatt credit card. You earn 2 elite qualifying nights for every $5,000 you spend. You also earn a free Category 1 to 4 night after spending $15,000 a year.
