The IHG One Rewards Premier Select Credit Card from Chase debuts today. Designed for folks who regularly stay at IHG hotels but even if you aren't an IHG loyalist, this card could offer something for you.

Regardless of whether you're in the market for a new travel rewards credit card, you should keep reading. Because this card brings big changes for all IHG One Rewards credit cards.

Welcome Offer

For a limited time, you can earn 200,000 bonus points when you spend $5,000 on purchases in the first three months after opening your account. This offer is available to new cardholders through November 18, 2026.

You won't earn the bonus points if you currently have this card or have received the bonus on this card in the past 24 months. But given this is a brand new card, this fine print doesn't apply.

Pro-tip: You can earn an additional 10,000 bonus points when you add an authorized user in the first three months of account opening. This bonus is limited to one authorized user so you can't maximize this option.

IHG One Rewards Premier Select Credit Card Perks

Spending Bonuses

Want more bonuses? You can earn Diamond status, additional bonus IHG points, and elite night credits when you reach certain spending bonuses.

Diamond Status

You can earn Diamond status after spending $25,000 in a calendar year. This gives you a 100% bonus on points earned for IHG stays vs the 60% bonus as a Platinum member.

As a Diamond, you get free breakfast (property dependent), President's Circle status from Hertz, and a dedicated Diamond line to call.

If you frequently stay at IHG hotels or plan at hotels with expensive breakfast but won't earn Diamond through stays, it could be worth meeting the spend to achieve Diamond status. But you should do the math.

Pro-tip: If you value being treated like a VIP and want upgrades without having to pay for them, it could be worth having Diamond status especially if you travel internationally.

Unlimited Elite Night Credits

You'll earn 2 elight night credits for every $5,000 spent on purchases. If you currently have the World of Hyatt Credit Card, you're familiar with how this spending bonus works.

There is no limit to the number of elite night credits you can earn.

Pro-tip: The spend on the IHG One Rewards Premier Select Credit Card is a rolling spend. So if you need the nights for status you'll want to time it so that the nights post in the correct calendar year.

5 Elite Night Credits and 20,000 Bonus Points

Each calendar year, you can earn 5 elite night credits and 20,000 bonus points after spending $15,000.

Pro-tip: You'll receive this perk once per calendar year from January 1 through December 31.

Free Night

You can earn an additional free night award after spending $40,000 on purchases in a calendar year. This free night award is redeemable for a night of 60,000 points or less.

Pro-tip: You can use additional points if you want to use your free night at a hotel that costs more than 60,000 points.

Double Dipping

The 20 elite night credits earned yearly from the IHG Rewards Premier Select count towards IHG Milestone Rewards. So you'll automatically have the choice between 5,000 bonus points, 2 food and beverage rewards, or a confirmed suite upgrade.

The elite nights earned from spending bonuses (2 per $5,000 spent and 5 from the first $15,000) also count towards Milestone Rewards.

Pro-tip: Confirmed suite upgrade awards are only available when you reach 40 and 70 nights. So choose wisely.

Who Should Get This Card

If you stay at IHG hotels often, the IHG Premier Select could worth a spot in your wallet. You can easily offset the $350 annual fee.

Even if you only stay at an IHG hotel once per quarter and fly once you'll recoup your costs. This card is the only IHG credit card to offer Platinum status. Folks who have the IHG One Rewards Premier Credit Card who used to enjoy that status are being bumped down to Gold.

Pro-tip: Current IHG Premier cardholders will keep Platinum status through December 31, 2027.
