Southwest Cards Offering 75,000 Points
All three Southwest personal credit cards were offering up to 75,000 points but this offer ended on February 10, 2020. The bonus is 40,000 points:
Normally this high of a bonus is offered towards the end of the year. Because you can get this bonus at the beginning of the year, you can fly free for two years! Because the signup bonus from the Southwest credit cards count towards earning the Southwest Companion Pass.
Pro-tip: You get two free checked bags on Southwest. Think of the money you’ll save when you check your bag for trips to Hawaii, the Caribbean, and more!
Goodbye middle seat! This card earns tier qualifying points towards A-List and A-List preferred status. With A-List, you get an “A” boarding pass.
You earn 2X points for every $1 you spend on Southwest tickets, Rapid Rewards hotel and car rental partner purchases. So a $49 ticket gets you 98 points plus the 221 points you earn from the ticket for a total of 319 points!
All other purchases give you 1 point per dollar. Adding up to more points, more flights, and more LUV.
You get a 6,000 point bonus on your card anniversary which is like free money for flights.
There are no foreign transaction fees so you can use your card when you travel to places like the Caribbean, Cuba, or Mexico.

You earn 3 points per $1 on Southwest tickets, Rapid Rewards hotel and car rental partner purchases. So a $49 ticket gets you 147 points plus the 221 points you earn from the ticket for a total of 368 points!

You earn 1 point for each $1 spent on everything else.
Each year you get 4 upgraded boarding passes for A boarding.

Southwest Companion Pass With 2 Cards
Because the Southwest signup bonus counts towards earning the Southwest Companion Pass, once earned you can fly free for almost two years.
With the Southwest Companion Pass, you can bring someone with you for free on all your Southwest flights.
There is no limit to how many times you can use your Southwest Companion Pass. You can fly every day, every weekend, or a few times a year. You decide how often you want to use it.
You earn a Pass after flying 100 one-way flights or earning 125,000 Southwest points in a year. With the Southwest cards offering 75,000 points, you can earn that in a few minutes!
How to Earn a Southwest Companion Pass Fast
You can earn a Southwest Companion Pass fast if you get a personal and business card.
You could get one of the personal cards Southwest Priority card, Southwest Premier, or the Southwest Plus card, and either the Southwest Performance Business card. When you complete the spending requirement, you’d earn 155,000 points. (75,000 points + 5,000 points + 70,000 points + 5,000 points).
With the Southwest Premier Business card, you’d earn 143,000 points.
More than the 125,000 needed to earn your Southwest Companion Pass!

Are You Eligible for Southwest Cards
You are eligible to apply for Southwest cards if you don’t currently have a Southwest credit card and have not received a Southwest bonus within the last 24 months.
Pro-tip: These cards are subject to the Chase 5/24 rule. If you have opened 5 new credit cards in the last 24 months (aka 5/24), it could be hard to get approved.
All three personal Southwest cards were offering 75,000 points bonus: Southwest Premier card, Southwest Priority Card, and Southwest Plus Card through February 10, 2020. This is the highest bonus offered on these cards. But the bonus point is now back to 40,000 points each.
