The Mirage Las Vegas is closing. The Mirage Hotel and Casino just announced that they are closing Monday through Wednesday starting January 4, 2021.

Last month the resort stopped accepting room reservations midweek.
The Mirage isn’t taking midweek hotel bookings and the entire casino is closing Monday through Wednesday.
Yep.
Starting January 4, 2021, The Mirage Las Vegas will go dark Monday through Wednesday.
Everything will close. You won’t be able to gamble, eat at any of the restaurants, stay at the hotel, or do anything at The Mirage Monday through Wednesday.
Last month the Encore Las Vegas went dark Monday through Thursday.
MGM Resorts hopes to resume normal business hours by March 2021. But it is dependent on how well The Mirage does when it’s open on the weekends.
Las Vegas casinos have been hit hard this year with several closing midweek. The LINQ was initially closed midweek when it reopened but is now open for hotel stays every day.
A month after reopening, the Park MGM closed for hotel booking midweek. Planet Hollywood reopened with planned hotel midweek closures.
Last month Mandalay Bay stopped accepting room reservations for midweek stays.
Recently The Palazzo closed the hotel but the restaurants and bars are open. So sad because they have the largest standard rooms on the Las Vegas Strip. All rooms are suites!
Pro-tip: When you stay at The Palazzo you get a cheaper day rate for Canyon Ranch Spa.
I love midweek travel because the rates are cheaper and there are fewer crowds.
Pro-tip: Midweek is a great time to score restaurant reservations at places like Nobu, Cut, and Catch.
It’s sad to see an of icon like The Mirage Las Vegas closing during the week.
But if it helps keep the casino stay profitable so it can stay open in the future, I’m all for it.
Vegas is a cheap destination to visit with cheap flights on Spirit and Frontier Airlines to Las Vegas.
You can even travel hack a trip to Las Vegas.
How do you feel about The Mirage shutting down Monday through Wednesday?

This is sad news! I had no idea Las Vegas started closing its hotels because of the pandemic, but I'm not surprised. They are trying the discourage people from gathering here, but to be honest it doesn't make much sense to close during the week and stay open on weekends. Most people go to Las Vegas for the weekend, so I'm not sure exactly what the purpose of this "black out" is.
