For a limited time, you can earn Globalist status fast through the American Airlines and World of Hyatt Trial Tier Status Offer. This new American and Hyatt fast track challenge is similar to previous fast track challenges. Here’s how your American Airlines status gets you a Hyatt status match.
World of Hyatt Trial Tier Offer
If you have American Airlines AAdvantage Gold, Platinum, Platinum Pro, or Executive Platinum status, you can earn World of Hyatt Explorist or Globalist status through this promotion.
To participate, you have to register by November 30, 2023.
You’ll receive immediate Explorist status during this fast-track challenge and have 90 days to complete qualifying World of Hyatt activity aka hotel stays to keep your status through February 28, 2025.
When you stay 10 nights, you’ll earn Explorist and if you stay 20 nights you’ll earn Globalist status.
Pro-tip: You can use points, free night certificates, or cash to pay for your 10 or 20 nights.
This is a quick and easy way to earn Globalist status without having to spend on the World of Hyatt Credit Card or The World of Hyatt Business Credit Card.
Pro-tip: Your American Airlines status determines your Hyatt challenge.
AAdvantage Gold and Platinum members can only earn Explorist status. While AAdvantage Platinum Pro and Executive Platinum members can earn Explorist or Globalist status.
This means that per the promotional terms, if you aren’t at least a Platinum Pro, you can’t earn Globalist through this offer.
Timing Fast Track Challenge
Only stays completed after registration and during the 90-day Trial Explorist Period qualify. So you’ll want to carefully time your fast-track challenge.
You can register anytime before 11:59 pm CT on November 30, 2023.
If your upcoming stays aren’t until later in the year or early next year, you should wait until the last minute to register and participate in the fast track promotion.
This ensures you maximize your time to get the most out of this offer.
Who Should & Shouldn’t Fast Track Hyatt Globalist
Globalist status is the best hotel status but it isn’t for everyone. Who wouldn’t want a free hotel upgrade? The cost to become a Globalist, even at a lowered requirement of 20 nights might not be worth the received value.
You should fast track Hyatt Globalist if you travel often and frequently stay at Hyatt hotels. In particular, Hyatts that have suites and a full restaurant.
Pro-tip: Consider enrolling in the challenge if you travel with family and friends and book multiple rooms at the same hotel. Once you’re a Globalist you can book the second room using the Guest of Honor benefit.
It could be worth both you and your spouse or partner having Globalist status. You can each book a room that receives Globalist perks, earn nights towards future status, and pay with cash instead of points.
You shouldn’t enroll in the status challenge if you don’t travel a lot and the few times you do, you stay at hotels that offer free breakfast to all guests. It may cost you more to qualify for Globalist than what you would have spent for an ungraded room and free breakfast. But you have to do the math.
Nor should you do the challenge if you have already earned 41 or more qualifying nights this year. Because it doesn’t make sense.
When you qualify via the normal route of 60 nights, elite nights earned from spending on the World of Hyatt Credit Card or The World of Hyatt Business Credit Card count. But they do not count if participating in the challenge.
What You Lose With a Fast Track Hyatt Globalist
If you qualify for Globalist under a reduced night challenge you get all the Globalist perks but not the milestone rewards. This is unofficially called Globalist lite.
Milestone awards earned from elite nights or base points (not bonus points) aren’t available if you earn Globalist via a fast track offer. You won’t get suite upgrade awards, a free Category 1 to 7 night award, nor assigned an MHC (My Hyatt Concierge).
American Fast Track Challenge
During previous American Airlines Elite member Globalist fast track challenges, some World of Hyatt Discoverist, Explorist, and Globalist got the opportunity to receive reciprocal status with American Airlines through an AAdvantage fast track challenge for Gold, Platinum, or Platinum Pro status.
At this time, a similar promotion has not been announced. But it’s a good idea to check to see if you’re targeted for this offer. You can do so by checking the “Promotions” section under your American Airlines AAdvantage account.
Conclusion
If you enjoy staying in suites and free breakfast you should consider participating in the new American and Hyatt fast track challenge.
You can earn World of Hyatt Globalist status for one third of the number of nights required with this promotion. You get all the Globalist perks. But not any of the Milestone Rewards: guaranteed suite upgrades, free Category 1 to 7 award night, and access to an MHC.
