Wanna getaway? If you’re planning on flying Southwest, here’s a great offer. You can save 35% on Southwest points through August 13, 2018.

Southwest flies to 40 states (they’re flying to Hawaii soon) and 14 countries like Belize. When buying tickets on Southwest you can pay with cash or points. So Southwest point sales can be a good deal.

You can save 35% on Southwest points when you buy points by August 13, 2018.

To get the discount you have to buy 5,000 points. Unlike when you buy airline miles or buy points for other airlines, there’s no limit on how many points you can buy. So you can buy up to 60,000 Southwest points per day!

Yep, you read that right. You can buy 60,000 Southwest points a day!

With those points and the Southwest Companion Pass, you and your companion could take a vacation every week. This is a good way for families to travel more without spending a lot.

After you purchase points, it takes 72 hours for points to post to your account. So you should buy points at least 3 days before you want to cash them in for flights.

Pro-tip: Bought points do not count towards earning the Southwest Companion Pass (free flights for up to 2 years), A-List Preferred, or A-List status.

Should You Buy Southwest Points?

I’ve written about the only time you should buy airline miles.

Southwest points cost 2.75 cents per point. But with this offer, you can buy points for 1.93 cents per point.

Buying miles or points can be worth it for families and if you fly during the summer, holidays, and other times when airline tickets are expensive.

Pro-tip: Buying Southwest points is a great way to meet minimum spending on new credit cards.

Conclusion

You can get 35% off on Southwest points when you buy points by August 13, 2018.

There’s a 5,000 point minimum purchase to get the bonus. But you can buy 60,000 points per day! When you couple bought points with the Southwest Companion Pass,

If you’re flying during the holidays, summer or other peak travel period, you could save money on your airline tickets. Because it can be cheaper to buy points and cash them in for airline tickets instead of paying cash.
