World of Hyatt Business Credit Card: 75,000 Point Bonus, What You Need to Know (Expired)

Share with a friend

The World of Hyatt Business Credit Card is here! If you’re like me and have wished for a Hyatt business card, that day has come!

Update: The credit card offer in this post is no longer available. This offer has ended. The new offer is 60,000 points. Plus an additional 15,000 points. Check our credit card page for the latest offers.

Chase now offers the World of Hyatt Business Credit Card for business owners. It is the first Chase card to offer an adaptive rewards accelerator.

Great news because you can earn a large bonus, earn bonus points on certain categories, increased tier qualifying nights based on spending, and the ability to earn Globalist status. But not-so-great news because of the annual fee. Here’s everything you need to know about the Hyatt Business Card.

World of Hyatt Business Credit Card

The Hyatt Business Card is open to all small business owners. You can apply for the card if you have the World of Hyatt Credit Card. You can’t product change from the personal card to the business card.

The World of Hyatt Business Credit Card offers:

  • Earn 60,000 point bonus after spending $5,000 on purchases in the first 3 months of opening your account
  • Plus you can earn an additional 15,000 bonus points after spending a total of $12,000 in the first six months
  • 5 elite night credits with every $10,000 you spend in a calendar year
  • 10% rebate on redeemed points when you spend $50,000 or more every year
  • Up to $100 in Hyatt statement credits every card anniversary after spending $50 x 2 at Hyatt
  • 4 points per $1 spent at Hyatt hotels
  • Unlimited 2 points per $1 on your top three spending categories through December 31, 2024: airline tickets booked through the airline, car rentals booked direct, cable, dining, gas, internet, phone services, advertising on social media and search engines, and transit. then your top two categories each quarter
  • 2 points per $1 spent on fitness club & gym memberships
  • 1 point per $1 spent on all other purchases
  • Free Discoverist status
  • Access to Hyatt Leverage
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • Member FDIC

The annual fee for the Hyatt Business card is $199.

Pro-tip: The first year annual fee is not waived.

The bonus points are bonus points vs base points.

Chase 5/24

It’s unsure if this card falls under Chase’s 5/24 (five cards opened in the last 24 months). I didn’t want to ask during the press conference. No sense bringing it to their attention if they hadn’t considered it. However, most of Chase’s travel rewards cards, including business cards, fall under 5/24.

Update: The World of Hyatt Business Credit Card falls under the 5/24 rule.

Bonus Categories

Business cardholders earn additional Hyatt points for spending on bonus categories.

You’ll earn unlimited 2 bonus points for every dollar spent on the top three categories where you spent the most each quarter through 2024. Beginning January 1, 2025, you’ll earn unlimited 2 points per $1 spent on your top two spending categories.

Pro-tip: Category spending is tracked automatically. You don’t have to register or record your spending. Chase’s adaptive accelerator documents your top spend categories so you don’t have to.

10% Rebate On Redeemed Points

With the Hyatt Business Card, you get 10% back on redeemed points on stays at hotels like Andaz Maui

You’ll get a 10% rebate on redeemed points after you spend $50,000 a year on the Hyatt Business Card. You can get a maximum of 200,000 points refunded per calendar year.

The point rebate is not retroactive. The rebate goes into effect once you spend $50,000 on the card in a calendar year.

The sooner you spend the $50k, the sooner you get your points refund.

Your refunded points will appear in your account after your stay has posted.

Pro-tip: The 10% rebate is stackable with other point rebate promotions.

Visa Signature Card Benefits

As a Visa Signature card, World of Hyatt Business Cardholders will have access to Visa Signature perks like:

  • Trip cancellation/travel interruption insurance
  • Travel and emergency assistance services
  • Primary rental car collision damage waiver
  • Complimentary roadside dispatch
  • Extended warranty protection
  • Purchase protection

Gift Elite Status

As a World Of Hyatt Business Card holder, you can gift elite status to up to 5 employees. Employees will receive Discoverist status in the World of Hyatt program.

Pro-tip: They do not have to be authorized users on the Hyatt business card or be issued employee cards to receive elite status.

There are no fees for employee business cards. When you add employees as authorized users, their cards are called employee business cards. The cards function exactly like authorized user cards.

Pro-tip: This means you can add your children as authorized users on your Hyatt business card if they are employees of your company.

Hyatt Card Differences

Only one Hyatt card gives you a free night at hotels like the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress

There are several differences between the Hyatt Card and Hyatt Business Credit Card. You should be aware of these disparities if you’re considering canceling your World of Hyatt card to get the World of Hyatt Business card.

Free Night Award on Card Anniversary

With the World of Hyatt card, you earn a Category 1 to 4 free night award on your card anniversary. You do not earn a free night award on your World of Hyatt Business Credit Card anniversary.

Free Night After Spending $15,000 a Year

You earn a Category 1 to 4 free night after spending $15,000 a year on the Hyatt card. The Hyatt business card doesn’t offer a free night for spending.

Five Elite Nights Every Year

The World of Hyatt card gives you five elite nights each year towards status. The World of Hyatt Business card does not.

Elite Status From Spending

You can earn elite status by spending on both the World of Hyatt card and the World of Hyatt Business card. You earn 2 elite tier qualifying nights for every $5,000 you spend on the Hyatt card. The World of Hyatt Business Credit Card earns 5 elite tier qualifying nights for every $10,000 spent. This means you’ll earn an extra tier qualifying night as a business cardholder.

Annual Fee

The annual fee on the Hyatt is $95 whereas the Business Hyatt card is $199. You could say the additional $100 is offset by the $100 rebate.

Statement Credit

The World Of Hyatt Business Credit Card offers up to $100 yearly statement credit at any Hyatt worldwide. The World of Hyatt card doesn’t offer a rebate.

You earn the $100 rebate when you spend $50 or more at a Hyatt. The credit is given twice a year, up to $100.

Pro-tip: A stay is not required to get the statement credit. This means your bar, restaurant, or spa spending qualifies for the yearly rebate.

Bonus Categories

The Hyatt Business Credit Card offers quarterly bonus categories. You earn bonus points based on your top spending categories (top three in 2024 and top two every year thereafter). The World of Hyatt card doesn’t offer quarterly bonus categories based on spending.

Instead, you automatically earn 2X points on dining, airfare, local transit and commuting from the personal card. Both cards offer 2X points on gym and fitness memberships.

Which Hyatt Card Is Right for You?

If you’re trying to decide which Hyatt card is right for you, you can make it simple and get both. 😉 Because you can have both the personal and business Hyatt card.

For most people who don’t have either card, the World of Hyatt card is the better option. Because you earn a free award night each year and have the ability to earn an additional award night after spending $15,000 a year.

Who Should Get the Hyatt Business Credit Card

You should get the World of Hyatt Business Credit Card if you have a lot of expenses, spend heavily in any of the eight bonus categories, frequently stay at Hyatt on both paid and award nights, and want to earn elite status (or keep your status) faster.

The ability to earn 5 tier qualifying nights for every $10,000 spent is a big plus for World of Hyatt elite members. You can earn Explorist status after spending $60,000 in a calendar year.

You can earn Globalist status when you spend $60,000 through December 31, 2021 because of the reduced elite requirements.

Pro-tip: Elite qualifying nights earned from credit card spending count toward milestone awards.

Conclusion

If you’re looking for a new business card, consider the World of Hyatt Business Credit Card. With a high welcome bonus, bonus points on your top spending categories, elite qualifying nights from spending, and a 10% rebate on redeemed points, this card may make sense for many small business owners.

You need to look at your spending patterns and determine if this card is right for you.

It's weird to not see a shipping category on a business card :-/

Hi Ahmed,

Agreed, seems like a miss to not including shipping as a bonus category.
